My Comeback Story: James R.

I had multiple epidural injections in various places, all focused on different nerve areas. I did not see any improvement or relief from my pain. The last one was after a consultation with a spine surgeon, who said there was nothing he could do for me. He recommended trying facet joint injection(s) to see if that might be the source of my pain. But, when I came in for the injection(s), it seemed those instructions were changed or did not come through, because after some discussion Dr. Chang gave me yet another ineffective epidural injection. Several years later I am still in severe pain and can only stand for 10-15 minutes at a time before the pain becomes unbearable. Sorry, but my story does not include a "comeback". My story is more of a "give up". The picture shows how I get around when I have to walk any distance. I use the scooter and cart to get to my sailboat, which I bought before my very first GSOS injection, betting that I would get relief. I did not, and have never sailed the boat.
