Get to Know Dr. Talarico

Dr. Talarico is a third generation foot and ankle surgeon who completed an intensive residency program at the San Francisco Bay Area Foot and Ankle Residency Program. Dr. Talarico has both orthopedic and podiatric specialty training in foot and ankle reconstructive surgery. He is trained in various surgical and non-surgical treatments of the foot and ankle including: biomechanics, orthotic therapy, and arthroscopy. Dr. Talarico is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.

Prior to joining Webster Orthopedics, Dr. Talarico was the Chief of Podiatric Surgery and Residency Director at a major Bay Area medical center where he held the position for a decade. He has been a faculty member in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at UCSF where he was involved in the training of many foot and ankle surgeons who currently practice in the Bay Area. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree at Springfield College, Massachusetts in Health Sciences. He attended graduate school while working toward a Masters degree in Exercise Physiology and was an assistant coach to the men’s gymnastics team. He was a member of two consecutive USA Men’s Collegiate National Championship teams.

Dr. Talarico attended the California School of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco where he graduated with honors. He has obtained several awards throughout his career and medical education. Dr. Talarico has published numerous articles and has been highly involved in medical research throughout the course of his career.

In his leisure time, he enjoys cooking, spending time with his family and is an avid outdoorsman. He enjoys long distance hiking, backpacking and camping and has hiked multiple sections of the Pacific Crest Trail.
