I have been going to Dr. Wiseman for a long time for my knee issues…..He actually has done one replacement. He and his staff have been very professional, helpful, explanatory and I highly recommend them.
I recently needed a “tune up” that included x-rays (done right on site) and a nice dose of Cortisone… worked great!!!
So if u are shopping around for a good Orthopedic guy, call Dr. Wiseman!!

Dr.Richard,J. W. Is very nice and pay attention on my concerns. He checked my thumb because I complained of pain and he found out that I don’t have feeling on right side of my thumb. Dr Jensen made a complete shoulder replacement seem like a simple thing.
He listens to you and puts one at ease.
I put this off for ten years after hearing horror stories. I had my arm above my had for the first time in ten years a few hours after surgery. I'm going on 9 years with zero problems and still pain free. I needed to go see him again to fix my left shoulder. I won't ever go to anyone else unless he retires.
The staff is fantastic as well.

Saw Dr Chang and he immediately took X-rays which indicated a problem. He ordered an MRI for the following week. Then a week later I received epidurals and the severe back pain disappeared within a few days. He was most responsible and moved very quickly to take care of me. I highly recommend him to anyone has had similar back problems

Dr. Richard J. Wyzykowski Is a great orthopedic Surgeon and has been amazing. I had rotator cuff surgery and I caught a Staph infection and he was great helping me get through it. He is hands on with his patients and very professional. He came to see me in the hospital on his days off and showed that he cares. I would definitely refer him to other patients.

Dr. John Schilling is a treasure. He listens, he explains, and he truly cares. I saw him due to a work injury, and after not making progress through Concentra, I was given a list of doctors to choose from. I'm so glad I chose Dr. Schilling. After looking at my MRI and physical therapy reports, he gave me a cortisone injection. The cortisone did not help, so he recommended surgery, which workers comp denied. He then appealed it and won. I'm now in the healing process after having surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Schilling.

While his staff was very supportive and helpful, I especially appreciated his patience when I asked a zillion questions about what to expect and how to proceed with healing and physical therapy! All new to me.

Doctor Wycykowski was very professional. We treated my shoulder arthritis timely with treatment and physical therapy that restored movement and gave me a solid routine to follow at home and keep movement with little to no pain as long as I avoided certain straining activities which I continue to do. My wife suffered for years with debilitating back pain and sciatica. We were Kaiser patients and all they did was prescribe physical therapy and pain meds. When the next open enrollment came along, we switched to a PPO and made an appointment with Muir Ortho. Kaiser had never ordered a MRI, but that was the first thing Dr. Chang ordered. As it turned out, she had a bulging/herniated disc at L5-S1 with nerve impingement. After trying some more conservative approaches at first, such as steroid injections, which worked for a short time before the pain returned, it was then decided that a microdiscectomy surgery would be the best option. Dr. Lee performed the surgery, and the pain was immediately gone. That was over 11 years ago and she's been pain free ever since. Can't recommend the professionals at Muir Ortho highly enough!

It was brief and to the point my only contention is that couldn't just have been done without me having to have driven over an hour from Concord Concord to Brentwood electronically just as they did it as I was in the office that's my only point of contention I do appreciate the fact that the refer refer not the referring position but the physician to whom it was referred to for the cortisone shot called within 48 hours and for that I thank you my cortisone shot is set for tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. so overall thus far I say it was a positive experience for the most part but I would recommend to all to ask many questions especially if something doesn't make sense to you

Dr. Wong: while she looks much too young to be as awesome as she is, yes she is that awesome. My scar is maybe 4 inches long, my surgery was 7 weeks ago today, I've been driving for 4 weeks now, walking with use of a cane was only a short amount of time, I used physical therapy in 1 week after surgery,twice a week for 6 weeks. My only discomfort is after sitting for awhile then standing and walking, the first 1 or2 steps have a slight twinge. The surgical center was as perfect as I can imagine ( this is my first hip replacement, hopefully the last, however should I need another id do everything the exact same way) I will add that I only used the OXY pain meds day of surgery and the next morning, after that I used marijuana ( only when the pain was more than Tylenol would handle.) The surgical staff was unbelievable I was talking to the anesthesiologist next thing I knew I'm awake asking when we're starting ( it was done and I'm waiting for the physical therapist to advise me how to get around with the least amount of discomfort.) I'm hoping to start working soon ( waiting on a project not my ability to get around). I could not be more pleased with the outcome. I'd advise taking care of yourself and not need surgery, but Muir Orthopedic Specialist is a place to have faith that it will be done right ( Dr. Wong has my thumbs up.)

Dr. Moorthy took a mangled foot from a 20 year old car accident and being very candid with me as to the fact he wasn’t sure how much he could do with it, he worked a miracle in 2017. I now have a foot that looks and works like a normal foot (filled with plate, pins and cadaver parts) and for the first time in 20 years, no pain.
Then last year I broke three bones in my ankle going down a ravine and was told by three doctors I had really mangled it. Once again, Dr. Moorthy worked his magic. I have another plate and pins however everything is working as it should.
I also want to give a shout out to Muir Orthopaedic Specialists personnel; office workers, PA’s and surgical personnel, X-ray, Casting, nurses, physical therapists etc.. I had some special medical needs during both surgeries and all the personnel were “on it” as far as the many changes and questions and care needed to make it all happen with good outcomes. They always treat people with respect and a spirit of caring. Thank you!

Dr.lee help me so much with the last back surgery my chronic pain leval went from 10+ down to a 2/3 and fushion I believe was an success he did tell me in time that I would need more surgeries but hey that's my life!!!!! All the girls and staff are very helpful and nice.

I broke my dominant wrist in October 2020. I had never broken a bone and it was so depressing to not be able to work for two months. Adding to my pity party? The pandemic. Poor me.....

On December 15, 2020 Dr. Richard Wyzykowski preformed a Carpal Tunnel release on my right hand. The surgery was 100 percent successful. I am able to move my hand and fingers better than I have for years. I would definitely recommend Dr Wyzykowski to folks who are having problems with their hands. In fact he will be doing a repeat surgery on my left hand in February.

My Orthopedic Surgeon is Dr. Craig Wiseman. As far as I am concerned there is no one better, nicer or more caring. i had a stage 4 torn meniscus in my left knee and he removed 1/3rd of the cartilage. I also injured/tore my meniscus in my right knee and fell and tore my rotary cuff in my left shoulder. I opted out of surgery for my knees and for 3 years I have been getting gel injections that work great for me. i am 76 years old and too active and too busy for surgeries. Dr. Wiseman takes great care of me - all his patients love him. I love John Muir and would not go to any other facility. I know I am in good hands and trust Dr. Wiseman completely to always be there for my injuries and guide me through them. Joann Ashton

A great experience with Muir Orthopedics and specifically Dr wyzykowski. Photos of my hands are less than 6 months post operation, people I have met with similar surgeries are amazed at the lack of visible scarring. Recovery is progressing much better than expected, I already have increased sensitivity and then numbness and tingling has almost completely disappeared.

I was referred to Dr Wyzykowski by my GP for carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel syndrome. Both things I had been living with for quit some time. I waited until my day to day life was constantly interrupted by pain before I looked for help. Dr Wyzykowski tried a few different steps to alleviate pain before he suggested surgery (change of bad habits, cortisone shot). When I opted for surgery he was thorough in describing to me what I could expect. I was very comfortable the day of surgery and confident I could could trust him and his staff. The staff at the surgery center were very courteous and professional. I received detailed instructions on how to prep myself for surgery. I also got a call from the anesthesiologist the night before. After my bandages came off of my arms (I had two surgeries on each arm) I was scheduled for Physical Therapy. I would not feel as good as I do now with out PT. Nicole and Amanda were my PT's at the Brentwood office. I've had a lot of stiffness and soreness to work through. I felt my time with them was quality time. I feel at this point that I have my life back. I am very great full to Dr Wyzykowski, his staff and the PT staff for all of their help. I realize it is their jobs but I would not have the use of my arms back with out their help. You never know how great full you are for something, until you don't have it!

Dr Wiseman repaired my ACL and meniscus injury in January 2019. He has a lovely bedside manner. He's a good listener, great at answering questions and he's very caring. I had an issue after surgery with nausea and keeping the pain meds down. He resolved my issue immediately! His staff is efficient, caring and friendly.
When removing my stitches his assistant/nurse really made me laugh.... what a fun sense of humor. I appreciated it!!
If you have to have Orthopaedic surgery... this is the Dr for you!!!

Dr. Lee performed a Laminectomy and spinal fusion X2. I was able to stand the same day as surgery and walk the next day. The pain I was experiencing prior to surgery was gone. I am 5 weeks post surgery and I feel amazing. I recommend any one in need of back surgery to contact Dr. Lee. I am now looking forward to a better quality of life.

I hardly ever write a review, however, I felt compelled to share my positive experience at Muir Orthopaedic Specialists. For my first appointment for "shoulder pain" I saw Dr. Wyzkowski. He was extremely competent and I appreciated his straight forward answers to my questions - if you are looking for a doctor to tell you what you want to hear, or to coddle you, he is probably not the doctor for you, but he is definitely the doctor for me! I felt like I received a very clear and comprehensive treatment plan for my issues. For my "neck pain" Dr. Wyzkowski referred me to Dr. Lee, another excellent doctor in the same office! My second appointment with Dr. Wyzkowski was equally as pleasant - I was seen at my scheduled time and the office staff was very courteous to me. Now, I must confess that for the 5 years that I have lived in the Brentwood area, I had assumed that in order to get first class medical treatment I would have to either travel to the South Bay or the San Francisco area - thanks to Dr. Wyzkowski, my perception has changed and I now know that I can get excellent medical treatment locally.

John Muir, Brentwood, is THE BEST medical service, personnel, doctors that ANYONE could ask for. I am never disappointed by any department, any physician, any nurse, or physicians assistant that I have encountered in these offices.
That includes Urgent Care, my primary physician's office and staff, radiology, blood lab, ortho, cardiac.
EVERYONE I have encountered has been fabulous. I cannot recommend them enough.

I went with my husband to see Dr. Wyzykowski regarding shoulder pain. The wait time was what you would expect when seeing a physician. The staff was courteous and professional. The doctor explained everything thoroughly in great detail in a language that was understandable. We both left with a feeling of confidence that we made the right decision by choosing Dr. Wyzykowski. "I've been having so much painstaking pains and issues on my left knee that my New Orthopedic Surgeon, 'DR. JOHN L. KRONICK', have set an appointment for me on Thursday, July 13th, to see Electromyogram (EMG) and Nerve Conduction Study Specialist, 'DR. MICHAEL CHANG' , at Muir Orthopaedic Specialists in their Brentwood office. Medical Assistant, Ms. 'CYNTHIA SANCHEZ', was very kind enough to set-up the machine for these respective tests on a separate room by the Physical Therapists Office.
An Electromyogram (EMG) measures the electrical activity of muscles at rest and during contraction. Nerve conduction studies measure how well and how fast the nerves can send electrical signals.
A 'Nerve Conduction Study (NCS) is a medical diagnostic test commonly used to evaluate the function, especially the ability of electrical conduction, of the motor and sensory nerves of the human body.
If you have leg pain or numbness, you may have these tests to find out which nerves are being affected and how much they are affected. These tests check how well your spinal nerves are working. They also check the nerves in your arms and legs.
I was asked to lie on a table so my muscles are relaxed. In this test, several flat metal-disc electrodes are attached to your skin with tape or a paste. An electrode that puts out electric pulses is placed right over the nerve. Then a recording electrode is placed over the muscles controlled by that nerve. Several quick electrical pulses are given to the nerve. The time it takes for the muscle to contract in response to the electrical pulse is recorded. The speed of the response is called the conduction velocity. During an EMG test, I felt a quick, sharp pain when the needle electrode is put into my muscles in the leg and back. He has performed carpal tunnel surgery on both of my hands , as well as repair of two finger/ knuckles.
He has also non surgically treated my elbow and shoulder.
His work was enhanced by excellent hand therapists and a collectively great staff from the front office to the assistants.

I have seen 3 doctors at MOS, each a specialist in a different part of the body and they were all excellent. Good listeners, explained your options and very up to date. I have no complaints with these doctors. Very pleasant and understanding.

Dr. Wyzykowski was my surgeon for my shoulder rotating cuff. Even before the surgery he talked to me about moving the arm, and although I really didn't feel like I could do it. Before he sent me home he reminded me of our previews conversations about moving that shoulder and doing the exercises he recommended. Every time I saw him for follow ups he pushed for the exercises. The truth is that I really wasn't always happy about the exercises but I'm glad I kept at it. It's been 9 months since my surgery and I'm glad I followed the Dr's advice. My shoulder feels great and I'm very happy with the results. Dr. Wyz was great. Thank you Dr. Wyzykowski.

I was misdiagnosed by another doctor and Dr. Wyzykowski made the correct diagnosis.
I was in a great deal of pain at the time and he fit me into his surgery schedule. He did bilateral Carpal tunnel surgery. I am now pain free thanks to Dr. Wyzykowski. I would highly recommend him. John P.

I'm glad I didn't see these negative reviews before my appointment. I feel blessed to have found this practice, and in particular Dr. Coufal. I fractured my left wrist in an ice-skating fall but didn't seek care because I thought it was a bad sprain. After a week, I visited an urgent care in Stockton for an x-ray. They tried to treat, put my wrist in a huge splint and told me to find an orthopedic surgeon. Through my insurance, I found Dr. Coufal. I could not be more impressed with Dr. Coufal or the staff. Every person I came in contact with was professional, kind, warm and happy. When have you visited a medical practice and left with that kind of assessment? I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Coufal and the staff to others.

I went in to the Brentwood location expecting to wait quite a bit being that my appointment was at 2:15 but was surprised to be seen by Dr. Wyzykowski within 20 minutes of my arrival. The X-ray tech was very sweet and professional and the staff very helpful and prompt. Dr. Wyzykowski is very professional and although some may say arrogant I say very knowledgable and confident. I will be happy to return to him in 3 weeks for a follow up. This is my second time seeing him for unrelated injuries and I will continue to see him as my orthopedic specialist being that he only has the best intentions for his patients.

Dr Moorthy was my surgeon & PA Brant his assistant.
They have great "bed side" manors.
They listen to you which sometimes with other Dr's isn't true.
The surgery went well. They take great care of you. I see him at both Brentwood & Walnut Creek offices.

This is my third procedure (different joints) in 10 years all with Muir Ortho and Dr Wiseman. Couldn't ask for a better ortho. His work is amazing, tight and clean. Follow up and PT is exceptional.

My hat goes off to Dr. Christopher Coufal. You can tell he spends individual time with his patients and this is important for me. He was able to gain my trust almost immediately and he met every one of his promises to me. Before my surgery we talked through a sort road map of where I wanted to be. My left arm was broke, and he said after surgery in two days, i wont need a cast, and I should have full mobilityin my arm - no rehab necessary. Everything worked out perfectly. If you ever hear of a doctor that can really get into the work he loves, this is the guy. He calls himself "a carpenter of the body", and he earns every bit of that. That is his passion.

Dr. Wyzykowski is the best hand specialist!!! I know this both professionally and first hand as a patient. I was in pain everyday from March until the day I had surgery in October, once I came out of surgery, I've not had any pain, just as he said. He's awesome and took great care of me. Love you Wyzy :-)

I started seeing Dr. Richard J. Wyzykowski in April of 13 for a trigger finger and arm/shoulder condition. On the initial evaluation he provided an explanation of the conditions and options I had available for treatment. We decided on a plan of attack and went on to handle both of the issues. About 6 months later the trigger condition reared its ugly head again and I went back in to see Dr Wyzykowski for a more permanent solution. With that, we scheduled the surgery and the back-office folks took care of the insurance verification and kept me in the loop the whole time.
The surgery center in Walnut Creek was outstanding. The staff did a fine job of putting me at ease and getting me through the process. Much to my delight, Dr Wyzykowski actually performed the surgery himself. (It's more comforting than you think to actually know the person who is cutting into you.) Recovery was fast and when I thought I was ready, they wheeled me out to my car and off to lunch I went. On a side note, never head straight out of recovery to dinner in a public location. You cant stay awake long enough to be a good date. Just go hoe and back to bed, you wont starve.
The follow-up was 2 short appointments and a couple of trips to PT for my hand. While MOS owns the PT group (conveniently located in the same building). They were very open about it and wanted to ensure I get the treatment I needed without racking up or padding the bill.It only took a couple of session for my hand and I was good to go. I spent 10 sessions with them earlier in the year for my shoulder problem and the PT Dr's/Nurses were knowledgeable of my injuries and put me on the correct regiment for a fast recovery.
So here is my summery judgment.... The staff in every MOS office I encountered was nothing short of professional and caring.The administrative staff was very flexible with appointments and handled my insurance hurdles efficiently. Then MOS medical staff including the good folks of the surgery center, the PT staff and most importantly Dr Wyzykowski have earned my confidence and trust.
I HIGHLY recommend MOS for any of your orthopedic needs.

The care from Dr. Craig Wiseman's office was great! One person made all the difference, Dr. Wiseman's P.A., Bridget Garrehy.
Bridget is very experienced in all phases of the treatment and the recovery of her patients. She treated me with respect and not only answered medical questions but was able to address my anxiety without ever rushing me or dismissing my concerns.
Dr. Wiseman did a great job of repairing my shoulder but Bridget Garrehy provided the superb care and compassion that enhanced my recovery.

This is the second time I've experienced The Brentwood office. This visit was great!! The doctor I saw was Dr. Wiseman. I am very impressed with him! He listened to me and actually cared what I had to say. I never felt patronized or rushed. He never talked down to me, which is what happened my first time and with so many other doctors in my life, not just here. I feel confident in his abilities and know that when he operates on me, he will do the best job. I would recommend Dr. Wiseman to everybody who needs a surgery due to trauma, shoulders, sports injuries, etc. The 5 star rating is because of Dr. Wiseman. I am just a regular person, not a relative or paid "shill" to write good things on this website. What I say is the truth. I read the 1 star review and tend to agree with what they said about a rude office person. My first visit I had at this facility was similar to what they said. But, the person he is talking about seemed more personable this time. All in all, it was a great visit. If you do chose Dr. Wiseman, be prepared to wait a little longer as he gives a quality appointment to all his patients!

Amanda is doing a great job at rehabing my knee. The only downfall is that the Therapists will have multiple patients at the same time so you have to be patient. Overall, they truly care about you and want to see you rehab and get back to a normal life style.
Excellent care for my medical questions and concerns.
Dr. Lee has been my doctor for the last three years from the minute l met him. I was comfortable with him. He has walked every step with me on my surgeries and on my care I’ve been going through a lot this last four years, and I am very blessed to have him as my caring doctor. Thank you..

Dr Jensen made a complete shoulder replacement seem like a simple thing. He listens to you and puts one at ease. I put this off for ten years after hearing horror stories. I had my arm above my had for the first time in ten years a few hours after surgery. I'm going on 9 years with zero problems and still pain free. I needed to go see him again to fix my left shoulder. I won't ever go to anyone else unless he retires. The staff is fantastic as well.

Saw Dr Chang and he immediately took X-rays which indicated a problem. He ordered an MRI for the following week. Then a week later I received epidurals and the severe back pain disappeared within a few days. He was most responsible and moved very quickly to take care of me. I highly recommend him to anyone has had similar back problems

Dr. Richard J. Wyzykowski Is a great orthopedic Surgeon and has been amazing. I had rotator cuff surgery and I caught a Staph infection and he was great helping me get through it. He is hands on with his patients and very professional. He came to see me in the hospital on his days off and showed that he cares. I would definitely refer him to other patients.

Dr. John Schilling is a treasure. He listens, he explains, and he truly cares. I saw him due to a work injury, and after not making progress through Concentra, I was given a list of doctors to choose from. I'm so glad I chose Dr. Schilling. After looking at my MRI and physical therapy reports, he gave me a cortisone injection. The cortisone did not help, so he recommended surgery, which workers comp denied. He then appealed it and won. I'm now in the healing process after having surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Schilling.

DR. Craig Wiseman, is a very great Doctor. He really cares about his patients. I had a knee replacement and anytime I've had concerns, or questions, he has been there to answer them do I knew what to expect, and made sure my pain level was under control. All and all a great Doctor I would refer him to any family member or friend. In fact my Mom referred me to Dr.Wiseman.

My wife suffered for years with debilitating back pain and sciatica. We were Kaiser patients and all they did was prescribe physical therapy and pain meds. When the next open enrollment came along, we switched to a PPO and made an appointment with Muir Ortho. Kaiser had never ordered a MRI, but that was the first thing Dr. Chang ordered. As it turned out, she had a bulging/herniated disc at L5-S1 with nerve impingement. After trying some more conservative approaches at first, such as steroid injections, which worked for a short time before the pain returned, it was then decided that a microdiscectomy surgery would be the best option. Dr. Lee performed the surgery, and the pain was immediately gone. That was over 11 years ago and she's been pain free ever since. Can't recommend the professionals at Muir Ortho highly enough!
It was brief and to the point my only contention is that couldn't just have been done without me having to have driven over an hour from Concord Concord to Brentwood electronically just as they did it as I was in the office that's my only point of contention I do appreciate the fact that the refer refer not the referring position but the physician to whom it was referred to for the cortisone shot called within 48 hours and for that I thank you my cortisone shot is set for tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. so overall thus far I say it was a positive experience for the most part but I would recommend to all to ask many questions especially if something doesn't make sense to you

Dr. Wong: while she looks much too young to be as awesome as she is, yes she is that awesome. My scar is maybe 4 inches long, my surgery was 7 weeks ago today, I've been driving for 4 weeks now, walking with use of a cane was only a short amount of time, I used physical therapy in 1 week after surgery,twice a week for 6 weeks. My only discomfort is after sitting for awhile then standing and walking, the first 1 or2 steps have a slight twinge. The surgical center was as perfect as I can imagine ( this is my first hip replacement, hopefully the last, however should I need another id do everything the exact same way) I will add that I only used the OXY pain meds day of surgery and the next morning, after that I used marijuana ( only when the pain was more than Tylenol would handle.) The surgical staff was unbelievable I was talking to the anesthesiologist next thing I knew I'm awake asking when we're starting ( it was done and I'm waiting for the physical therapist to advise me how to get around with the least amount of discomfort.) I'm hoping to start working soon ( waiting on a project not my ability to get around). I could not be more pleased with the outcome. I'd advise taking care of yourself and not need surgery, but Muir Orthopedic Specialist is a place to have faith that it will be done right ( Dr. Wong has my thumbs up.)

Dr. Moorthy took a mangled foot from a 20 year old car accident and being very candid with me as to the fact he wasn’t sure how much he could do with it, he worked a miracle in 2017. I now have a foot that looks and works like a normal foot (filled with plate, pins and cadaver parts) and for the first time in 20 years, no pain. Then last year I broke three bones in my ankle going down a ravine and was told by three doctors I had really mangled it. Once again, Dr. Moorthy worked his magic. I have another plate and pins however everything is working as it should. I also want to give a shout out to Muir Orthopaedic Specialists personnel; office workers, PA’s and surgical personnel, X-ray, Casting, nurses, physical therapists etc.. I had some special medical needs during both surgeries and all the personnel were “on it” as far as the many changes and questions and care needed to make it all happen with good outcomes. They always treat people with respect and a spirit of caring. Thank you!
Dr.lee help me so much with the last back surgery my chronic pain leval went from 10+ down to a 2/3 and fushion I believe was an success he did tell me in time that I would need more surgeries but hey that's my life!!!!! All the girls and staff are very helpful and nice.

From the moment I went there I felt comfortable. This was important to me since I was having total hip replacement. Doctor Wendy Wong and the staff were outstanding. I was very nervous going in but the way all of my questions were answer the way the treated reminded how hospitals ( surgery centers) used the be . I broke my dominant wrist in October 2020. I had never broken a bone and it was so depressing to not be able to work for two months. Adding to my pity party? The pandemic. Poor me..... Thankfully, Muir Orthopedic in Brentwood changed my attitude and has helped me heal!! Here are three reasons I love this place: 1. So clean and bright! On December 15, 2020 Dr. Richard Wyzykowski preformed a Carpal Tunnel release on my right hand. The surgery was 100 percent successful. I am able to move my hand and fingers better than I have for years. I would definitely recommend Dr Wyzykowski to folks who are having problems with their hands. My Orthopedic Surgeon is Dr. Craig Wiseman. As far as I am concerned there is no one better, nicer or more caring. i had a stage 4 torn meniscus in my left knee and he removed 1/3rd of the cartilage. I also injured/tore my meniscus in my right knee and fell and tore my rotary cuff in my left shoulder. I opted out of surgery for my knees and for 3 years I have been getting gel injections that work great for me. i am 76 years old and too active and too busy for surgeries. Dr. Wiseman takes great care of me - all his patients love him. I love John Muir and would not go to any other facility. I know I am in good hands and trust Dr. Wiseman completely to always be there for my injuries and guide me through them. Joann Ashton

A great experience with Muir Orthopedics and specifically Dr wyzykowski. Photos of my hands are less than 6 months post operation, people I have met with similar surgeries are amazed at the lack of visible scarring. Recovery is progressing much better than expected, I already have increased sensitivity and then numbness and tingling has almost completely disappeared.

I was referred to Dr Wyzykowski by my GP for carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel syndrome. Both things I had been living with for quit some time. I waited until my day to day life was constantly interrupted by pain before I looked for help. Dr Wyzykowski tried a few different steps to alleviate pain before he suggested surgery (change of bad habits, cortisone shot). When I opted for surgery he was thorough in describing to me what I could expect. I was very comfortable the day of surgery and confident I could could trust him and his staff. The staff at the surgery center were very courteous and professional. I received detailed instructions on how to prep myself for surgery. I also got a call from the anesthesiologist the night before. After my bandages came off of my arms (I had two surgeries on each arm) I was scheduled for Physical Therapy. I would not feel as good as I do now with out PT. Nicole and Amanda were my PT's at the Brentwood office. I've had a lot of stiffness and soreness to work through. I felt my time with them was quality time. I feel at this point that I have my life back. I am very great full to Dr Wyzykowski, his staff and the PT staff for all of their help. I realize it is their jobs but I would not have the use of my arms back with out their help. You never know how great full you are for something, until you don't have it!
Dr Moorthy and his assistant recently treated me for a bone spur on my left heal. They focused right in on the pain area and treated it quickly. Not only that but they took the time to listed what I had to say and were very patient with me. Thank you both so much.
Dr Wiseman repaired my ACL and meniscus injury in January 2019. He has a lovely bedside manner. He's a good listener, great at answering questions and he's very caring. I had an issue after surgery with nausea and keeping the pain meds down. He resolved my issue immediately! His staff is efficient, caring and friendly. When removing my stitches his assistant/nurse really made me laugh.... what a fun sense of humor. I appreciated it!! If you have to have Orthopaedic surgery... this is the Dr for you!!!

I hardly ever write a review, however, I felt compelled to share my positive experience at Muir Orthopaedic Specialists. For my first appointment for "shoulder pain" I saw Dr. Wyzkowski. He was extremely competent and I appreciated his straight forward answers to my questions - if you are looking for a doctor to tell you what you want to hear, or to coddle you, he is probably not the doctor for you, but he is definitely the doctor for me! I felt like I received a very clear and comprehensive treatment plan for my issues. For my "neck pain" Dr. Wyzkowski referred me to Dr. Lee, another excellent doctor in the same office! My second appointment with Dr. Wyzkowski was equally as pleasant - I was seen at my scheduled time and the office staff was very courteous to me. Now, I must confess that for the 5 years that I have lived in the Brentwood area, I had assumed that in order to get first class medical treatment I would have to either travel to the South Bay or the San Francisco area - thanks to Dr. Wyzkowski, my perception has changed and I now know that I can get excellent medical treatment locally.

John Muir, Brentwood, is THE BEST medical service, personnel, doctors that ANYONE could ask for. I am never disappointed by any department, any physician, any nurse, or physicians assistant that I have encountered in these offices. That includes Urgent Care, my primary physician's office and staff, radiology, blood lab, ortho, cardiac. EVERYONE I have encountered has been fabulous. I cannot recommend them enough.

I went with my husband to see Dr. Wyzykowski regarding shoulder pain. The wait time was what you would expect when seeing a physician. The staff was courteous and professional. The doctor explained everything thoroughly in great detail in a language that was understandable. We both left with a feeling of confidence that we made the right decision by choosing Dr. Wyzykowski. In fact after we left the office, I called my brother-in-law to suggest that he make an appointment regarding his shoulder pain.
"I've been having so much painstaking pains and issues on my left knee that my New Orthopedic Surgeon, 'DR. JOHN L. KRONICK', have set an appointment for me on Thursday, July 13th, to see Electromyogram (EMG) and Nerve Conduction Study Specialist, 'DR. MICHAEL CHANG' , at Muir Orthopaedic Specialists in their Brentwood office. Medical Assistant, Ms. 'CYNTHIA SANCHEZ', was very kind enough to set-up the machine for these respective tests on a separate room by the Physical Therapists Office. An Electromyogram (EMG) measures the electrical activity of muscles at rest and during contraction. Nerve conduction studies measure how well and how fast the nerves can send electrical signals. A 'Nerve Conduction Study (NCS) is a medical diagnostic test commonly used to evaluate the function, especially the ability of electrical conduction, of the motor and sensory nerves of the human body. If you have leg pain or numbness, you may have these tests to find out which nerves are being affected and how much they are affected. These tests check how well your spinal nerves are working. They also check the nerves in your arms and legs. I was asked to lie on a table so my muscles are relaxed. In this test, several flat metal-disc electrodes are attached to your skin with tape or a paste. An electrode that puts out electric pulses is placed right over the nerve. Then a recording electrode is placed over the muscles controlled by that nerve. Several quick electrical pulses are given to the nerve. The time it takes for the muscle to contract in response to the electrical pulse is recorded. The speed of the response is called the conduction velocity. During an EMG test, I felt a quick, sharp pain when the needle electrode is put into my muscles in the leg and back. I want to take a few moments to express my gratitude and sincere thanks to Dr wyzykowski at John Muir in Brentwood ca. He has performed carpal tunnel surgery on both of my hands , as well as repair of two finger/ knuckles. He has also non surgically treated my elbow and shoulder. His work was enhanced by excellent hand therapists and a collectively great staff from the front office to the assistants. Dr. Wyzykowski was my surgeon for my shoulder rotating cuff. Even before the surgery he talked to me about moving the arm, and although I really didn't feel like I could do it. Before he sent me home he reminded me of our previews conversations about moving that shoulder and doing the exercises he recommended. Every time I saw him for follow ups he pushed for the exercises. The truth is that I really wasn't always happy about the exercises but I'm glad I kept at it. It's been 9 months since my surgery and I'm glad I followed the Dr's advice. My shoulder feels great and I'm very happy with the results. Dr. Wyz was great. Thank you Dr. Wyzykowski.

I was misdiagnosed by another doctor and Dr. Wyzykowski made the correct diagnosis. I was in a great deal of pain at the time and he fit me into his surgery schedule. He did bilateral Carpal tunnel surgery. I am now pain free thanks to Dr. Wyzykowski. I would highly recommend him. John P.
I'm glad I didn't see these negative reviews before my appointment. I feel blessed to have found this practice, and in particular Dr. Coufal. I fractured my left wrist in an ice-skating fall but didn't seek care because I thought it was a bad sprain. After a week, I visited an urgent care in Stockton for an x-ray. They tried to treat, put my wrist in a huge splint and told me to find an orthopedic surgeon. Through my insurance, I found Dr. Coufal. I could not be more impressed with Dr. Coufal or the staff. Every person I came in contact with was professional, kind, warm and happy. When have you visited a medical practice and left with that kind of assessment? I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Coufal and the staff to others.
I went in to the Brentwood location expecting to wait quite a bit being that my appointment was at 2:15 but was surprised to be seen by Dr. Wyzykowski within 20 minutes of my arrival. The X-ray tech was very sweet and professional and the staff very helpful and prompt. Dr. Wyzykowski is very professional and although some may say arrogant I say very knowledgable and confident. I will be happy to return to him in 3 weeks for a follow up. This is my second time seeing him for unrelated injuries and I will continue to see him as my orthopedic specialist being that he only has the best intentions for his patients.
So far so good. I'll update my review again in a few months when my leg should be healed. Dr Moorthy was my surgeon & PA Brant his assistant. They have great "bed side" manors. They listen to you which sometimes with other Dr's isn't true. The surgery went well. They take great care of you. I see him at both Brentwood & Walnut Creek offices.

My hat goes off to Dr. Christopher Coufal. You can tell he spends individual time with his patients and this is important for me. He was able to gain my trust almost immediately and he met every one of his promises to me. Before my surgery we talked through a sort road map of where I wanted to be. My left arm was broke, and he said after surgery in two days, i wont need a cast, and I should have full mobilityin my arm - no rehab necessary. Everything worked out perfectly. If you ever hear of a doctor that can really get into the work he loves, this is the guy. He calls himself "a carpenter of the body", and he earns every bit of that. That is his passion.

Dr. Wyzykowski is the best hand specialist!!! I know this both professionally and first hand as a patient. I was in pain everyday from March until the day I had surgery in October, once I came out of surgery, I've not had any pain, just as he said. He's awesome and took great care of me. Love you Wyzy :-)
I started seeing Dr. Richard J. Wyzykowski in April of 13 for a trigger finger and arm/shoulder condition. On the initial evaluation he provided an explanation of the conditions and options I had available for treatment. We decided on a plan of attack and went on to handle both of the issues. About 6 months later the trigger condition reared its ugly head again and I went back in to see Dr Wyzykowski for a more permanent solution. With that, we scheduled the surgery and the back-office folks took care of the insurance verification and kept me in the loop the whole time. The surgery center in Walnut Creek was outstanding. The staff did a fine job of putting me at ease and getting me through the process. Much to my delight, Dr Wyzykowski actually performed the surgery himself. (It's more comforting than you think to actually know the person who is cutting into you.) Recovery was fast and when I thought I was ready, they wheeled me out to my car and off to lunch I went. On a side note, never head straight out of recovery to dinner in a public location. You cant stay awake long enough to be a good date. Just go hoe and back to bed, you wont starve. The follow-up was 2 short appointments and a couple of trips to PT for my hand. While MOS owns the PT group (conveniently located in the same building). They were very open about it and wanted to ensure I get the treatment I needed without racking up or padding the bill.It only took a couple of session for my hand and I was good to go. I spent 10 sessions with them earlier in the year for my shoulder problem and the PT Dr's/Nurses were knowledgeable of my injuries and put me on the correct regiment for a fast recovery. So here is my summery judgment.... The staff in every MOS office I encountered was nothing short of professional and caring.The administrative staff was very flexible with appointments and handled my insurance hurdles efficiently. Then MOS medical staff including the good folks of the surgery center, the PT staff and most importantly Dr Wyzykowski have earned my confidence and trust. I HIGHLY recommend MOS for any of your orthopedic needs.
The care from Dr. Craig Wiseman's office was great! One person made all the difference, Dr. Wiseman's P.A., Bridget Garrehy. Bridget is very experienced in all phases of the treatment and the recovery of her patients. She treated me with respect and not only answered medical questions but was able to address my anxiety without ever rushing me or dismissing my concerns. Dr. Wiseman did a great job of repairing my shoulder but Bridget Garrehy provided the superb care and compassion that enhanced my recovery. Thank you Bridget! You Are Awesome!
This is the second time I've experienced The Brentwood office. This visit was great!! The doctor I saw was Dr. Wiseman. I am very impressed with him! He listened to me and actually cared what I had to say. I never felt patronized or rushed. He never talked down to me, which is what happened my first time and with so many other doctors in my life, not just here. I feel confident in his abilities and know that when he operates on me, he will do the best job. I would recommend Dr. Wiseman to everybody who needs a surgery due to trauma, shoulders, sports injuries, etc. The 5 star rating is because of Dr. Wiseman. I am just a regular person, not a relative or paid "shill" to write good things on this website. What I say is the truth. I read the 1 star review and tend to agree with what they said about a rude office person. My first visit I had at this facility was similar to what they said. But, the person he is talking about seemed more personable this time. All in all, it was a great visit. If you do chose Dr. Wiseman, be prepared to wait a little longer as he gives a quality appointment to all his patients!
I have only been to Muir Ortho once. I went to the Brentwood fadility. The experience was very favorable all the way from scheduling the appointment through my meeting with the doctor. Everyone I came in contact with was courteous, listened, and was very professional.
Amanda is doing a great job at rehabing my knee. The only downfall is that the Therapists will have multiple patients at the same time so you have to be patient. Overall, they truly care about you and want to see you rehab and get back to a normal life style.
