Dr Schilling is an excellent physician who has a very caring demeanor in addressing your reason for seeing him because of a medical discomfort. I saw him twice for the occurrence of a trigger finger on one hand and then on my other hand 6 weeks later. He was very patient and thorough in explaining my options. Dr. John Schilling has been treating my injuries and pain in both of my shoulders, both thumbs and has done surgery on my wrist for relieving pain from carpal tunnel. One of the less pleasant aspects of age (I'm 71) is a general stiffening of the joints -- usually due to osteoarthritis. A big word, but in reality if you're going to have arthritis, choose this one over rheumatoid arthritis. Osteoarthritis is joint pain caused by the wearing down over time of the cartilage that lubricates bones wherever they meet. For many, this is most evident in the hands. Over the course of a year, my ring finger's middle joint began complaining whenever I clenched my hand or typed too fast. My family doctor referred me to Dr. Schilling. Dr. Shilling checked my x-ray and confirmed that indeed I was experiencing osteoarthritis. He injected a steroid into my affected joint (less painful than it sounds) and after a few days the pain vanished and I was no longer experiencing pain while typing or riding my bike or other important stuff retirees do. As it goes with steroids, after a few months the pain gradually returned. And it had company. My right hand’s thumb joint began to ache as I carried out mundane activities. So I revisited Dr. Schilling and got both pain points dealt with, once again by steroid injection. Seeing Dr. Schilling is always a pleasure, not only because his accuracy at placing the steroid is dead-on, but also because he goes out of his way to be friendly and personable. I don’t feel like a number as I do in some other doctors’ offices. I will always be grateful to Dr. Schilling for helping me adjust to getting older, with the assurance that modern medicine, delivered the old-fashioned way, is helping to ease my transition into the "golden years."

Just over a year ago, I fell and broke a bone in my wrist...I made an appt. with Dr. Schilling upon the advice of my regular doctor. Dr. Schilling was on time, answered all my questions! Did the surgery to restore my wrist...great doctor!

My 90 year old father fell and fractured his elbow.  Dr. Schilling performed surgery and did a remarkable job piecing together all the bone fragments.  My father was virtually pain free within a few days after the surgery and the bones have healed quite nicely.  Dr. Schilling has an excellent bedside manner, takes his time, explains everything and listens.  I highly recommend him.
