PHILOSOPHY OF CARE

“We share our tool box to heal your spinal ailments and in return ask that you use your “tool box” to maintain a healthy lifestyle including eating healthy, exercising and modifying behavior to achieve maximum health. Many patients want to achieve a pain free lifestyle but few are willing to do the work that it takes to achieve it.”

About Dr Molumphy

Dr. Tina Molumphy was born and raised in Saratoga, CA, where she was a year-round swimmer and gymnast. She graduated from the University of California-Santa Barbara with a major in Biopsychology in 1989. After college, while deciding between pursuing a medical degree or a post-grad degree in physical therapy, Tina worked as a physical therapy aide at Bay Sport and was introduced to the study of Physiatry, the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation specializing in the musculoskeletal system of bones, ligaments, nerves, and tendons. She saw Physiatry as an opportunity to combine her sports background with a medical practice that allowed a good work/life balance and chose medical school.

Tina graduated from Tulane University School of Medicine in 1995 with honors and received recognition for her studies of toxicology. Leaving New Orleans behind, she returned to the Bay Area for an Internal Medicine internship at St. Mary’s Hospital in San Francisco, where she was awarded Intern of the Year 1996. She followed that with a residency at Stanford University in Physiatry and was named Academic Chief Resident her second year.

Since 1999, Tina has been working in private practice treating spinal pain and has been certified in Chronic Pain Management, Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and Physiatry.

Tina has made work-life balance a priority in her life, making room in her career for family, volunteer work, and community. She enjoys outdoor physical conditioning such as tennis, hiking, and mountain biking, and volunteers regularly at her children’s school.

Tina is happiest when helping others – whether treating patients at her medical practice or volunteering, but a good mountain bike riding with her friends on a perfect California day is a close second.

Reviews Mean So Much!

Reviews mean so much to both the doctor providing care as well as to prospective patients. We appreciate your reviews!

Firstly she is super skilled, and cares. No BS here: you can tell when a Doctor is competent and cares and she is BOTH. Such a great doctor with superb performance and personality. We need more humans like them.

Dr. Molumphy is absolutely the best. She has been a critical partner with my back issues. I had a significant failure of my L5/S1 disc failure. She leads pain management and direction for PT. Tina’s dedication and thoroughness explored every option before surgery. I knew going into my surgery it was the right call.
I highly recommend Dr Molumphy.

Dr. Molumphy has been hands down top-notch. She is literally the 10th doctor I’ve seen for my lower back issues and is still continuing with my care. Because my problem has been really hard to diagnose, the previous 9 doctors basically told me they aren’t sure what’s going on and didn’t offer much help from there. Thank you so much for all your help Dr. Molumphy, it’s greatly appreciated!!!!!!
