I am now 14 months post fusion / laminectomy Lower lumbar surgery. I feel stronger than I have in 10 years. I went in with drop foot, not able to stand for more than 2 minutes and severe nerve compression ( amongst other spinal issues). I can now work out again and feel great. I was even able to walk more then 5 miles in the forest, pain free, 3 months post surgery. Dr. Lee was more than honest in not making any promises of potential out-comes post surgery but helped me make the best decisions for me. Dr. Lee was open to listening to my concerns and questions and offered a temporary solution to prolong surgery for a few months. He was positive, professional, attentive and very welcoming with a warm demeanor. Dr. Lee is not only one of the best Nero Surgeons but is also very personable.   I have recommended Dr. Lee to other people suffering similar condition.

Dr.Lee is a professional orthopedic spine doctor. Listens and answers your questions regarding your spine questions. His office staff is prompt in getting back with you for future appoints or upcoming spinal procedures.

Great doctor, physician and surgeon. Had a laminectomy L2-L5 discectomy and instrumented fusion from L2-S1performed on my lower back. All of the arthritis was removed and my lower back rebuilt with synthetic bone. The surgery was a complete success able to walk 1 day after surgery and standing tall. No pain, good posture and back to walking 2 to 3 miles a day within 4 weeks. Have a very positive review for Dr Lee and recommend him for any kind of back surgery. Also his staff, surgery team were excellent a very pleasant experience for me.

Well.. I have seen doctor Lee a few times for treatment, he was very pleasant and attentive. This last visit he was a bit short. I wanted to spend a bit more time with him to get some questions answered. I understand that he is a busy man.

Practice outstanding. Experienced front desk help. Dr. Lee was referred to me by a close friend. Based on this referral, I knew I was in good hands. I trusted this doctor with my neck surgery. I am on day five of recovery. Only taking pain medication once every 12 hours! Wow.

I had the pleasure of first meeting Dr. Lee in 10/18/2017 for my L5 disk. I had just laid my mother to rest on10/14/2017. It went great no problems. I herniated my L5 S1 disk again. I'll was with Kaiser and they did nothing except useless epidurals. I left Kaiser. I saw Dr. Lee again, he was excellent he said all we need to do is a clean up. That means surgery to fix the problem. Even though I live in Solano County and had a different Medi-Cal so I couldn't see him. He referred me to a surgeon he know that took Partnerships Healthcare. The reason I went to Dr. Lee is I totally 100% trust him. He is kind, experienced, professional and truly cares. I would see him again. Trust is everything to me. After having a second opinion from another doctor, and having questions as to the procedure and the recovery I felt that the meeting with Dr Lee assured me that having the procedure done would have a better result in the end. Age plus’s damage equals time of recovery!!!

Highly recommend Dr Steven Lee! I've struggled with sciatica back pain for 3 years. Pain level reached 8-9 out of 10 scale. Got temporary relief from an initial epidural injection, but 2nd round no longer effective. Referred to Dr Lee and couldn't be more pleased. He diagnosed the condition, developed a minimally invasive surgical solution, and implemented it as planned. Overall experience from initial visit to surgery was about 4-6 weeks. Started with pain level 8/10; now 3 weeks after surgery 1-2/10. Remarkable turnaround and improvement in life quality. Dr Lee is all business, communicates clearly, is easily understood, and totally candid. Overall, couldn't be more pleased. Highly recommended!

Dr. Lee has great bedside manner, is a great surgeon, kind hearted and well educated from University at California San Diego and attended Fellowship at UCLA. I feel he listens well, has patience and works towards the best outcome utilizing every avenue possible before performing any major surgeries. He has performed a micro discectomy and epidural injections on me with all positive outcomes. In the future I may need a fusion and I will definitely be choosing Dr. Lee. Dr.Lee explained why he wouldn't recommend yet another lumbar fusion for me, as I would get a lot more stiff, but he recomends epidurals as long as possible. His last one helped a lot for a good year plus!

I had a very good experience with Dr. Steven Lee and his staff. I would recommend my family and friends to see him for their spinal care. I felt at ease and had my questions answered with benevolent concern. I could see how articulate he is at performing the best outcome for my situation. I am a Chiropractor in Walnut Creek that treats disc injuries, and I suffered one so big that it was beyond the scope of conservative care. After seeing the MRI and realizing I was a surgical case, I asked the medical doctors that I worked with for a referral and was recommended Dr. Steven Lee. This was my second microdiscectomy, with the first in 1997 at the disc below L5-S1. I have been impressed with the level of service throughout the entire process. I was out of the surgery center faster, 5 hours versus 3 days, I have returned to my office faster and overall have had a much better outcome. Dr. Lee has been attentive and efficient at my pre and post op visits. I will have no hesitation referring my surgical cases to Dr. Lee.

Dr. Lee is very knowledgeable and will give you the facts related to your condition in a straightforward and easy to understand way. He's not the most outgoing/friendly of the doctors I've met at Muir, but I liked his style.

Dr.Steven Lee fused 2 vertabrae, inserted rods and spacers and shaved off some bone last February in my back, to deal with severe stenosis and spondilolisthesis. He was very straight forward and honest about recovery and activities. I did some  pt after 4 months. I am pain free and have a strong back. Dr. Lee is at the top of his game! If you want an extremely skilled surgeon he is one! Come to appts with questions and he'll let you know the score. Carol

I found Dr. Lee to be professional and efficient. Granted he's not very warm and fuzzy, neither am I, but my disability has created many visits to many docs and I put weight on the Docs proficiency. I found him to be to the point and easy to talk to. I possibly have 2 fine cracks in spine along with sciatica. Im confident he will treat me appropriately.

After developing drop foot, spinal stenosis, etc. and Kaiser neglecting it, even going as far as denying me a referral to see an orthopedic, I was very nervous about seeing Dr. Lee. From my first appointment he was very caring and cautious and recognized the seriousness that Kaiser failed to address, and before I left his office, I was scheduled for surgery the following week. Now I am 2 and a half months post op and feeling amazing! Dr. Lee is very caring and considerate and I would recommend him to anyone.

I have had the misfortune of needing two surgeries. Doctor Lee, performed both surgeries. After I realized that another surgery would be necessary I did not consider any other Doctor besides Dr. Lee. I found him to be compassionate and caring. I was never rushed through the interview process and concluded that surgery would be the best option. The morning of the surgery (December 24th 2014) he checked in with me to insure that I was okay and reassured me that all would be well. I was very very surprised when he appeared at my bedside (Christmas Day) to check in with me and asked me if all was okay. His visit was unnecessary but appreciated. The John Muir nursing staff was impeccable in their attention about my well being. (I submitted a letter for the Nursing Staff expressing my appreciation and thankfullness) Today I was involved in a vehicle accident. Dr Lee was great. I did not have the same experience that other posts mentioned. He was quick to develop a plan on diagnosing my issue. We uncovered that surgery was not necessary. It was great to go to a surgeon that was open to exploring other conditions that wouldn't require invasive surgery. I loved his patience and follow up on discussing my condition. He worked around my schedule. I would highly recommend him!

Steven Lee is the kind of doctor I like .... focused, straight forward, extremely talented with great medical credentials, listens carefully to your concerns .... and provides you with solutions ....and options regarding those solutions. He seems to have a profound understanding of how painful and limiting back and neck (spinal) problems can be and how to address each differing situation. He doesn't spend time chatting you up, he's in it for the "fix" and surgery is spoken of as his last resort. (With my particular neck stenosis condition it's physical therapy .... then epidural injection .... then if necessary, laprascopic surgery.) Steve took the time to review my x-rays and MRI with me, pointing out the problem area and explaining options we had to "get me up and running" again.
