About Golden State Orthopedics and Spine

Welcome, Current And New Patients!

For those of you who already know us, though we have a different name, you will recognize the familiar face of your Golden State Orthopedics & Spine doctor. Golden State Ortho, as we will also be known, was launched on January 1, 2022 by the joining together of three orthopedic groups: Muir Orthopaedic Specialists, OrthoNorCal and Webster Orthopedics. For our long-established patients, many of you will know that these three groups of doctors have been faithfully serving our communities for (respectively): 20 years (Muir Ortho); 10 years (OrthoNorCal) and ooh … over 80 years (Webster Orthopedics).

For our new patients: we are a group of expert, compassionate doctors specializing in head-to-toe orthopedic care. We treasure our patients like family and our teams, who come from the leading medical institutions across the country, are committed to bringing innovative, customized care to every patient. Whether our patients are 2 or 102, have major trauma or a twinge in their toe, we are here to care.

Becoming GSOS

GSOS Cute Doctor Face

Current patients: you’ll recognize the familiar face of your Golden State Orthopedics & Spine “GSOS” Doctor, even though our practice now has a different name. What happened to Muir Ortho, OrthoNorCal and Webster Orthopedics? It’s still us, we just, well … got married and changed our name [kind of]. We’ll still take care of you in the same places (and more places) and continue to treasure you like our own – always.

Your Questions

Answered

Unless our patients wish to now visit a more convenient office, there will be no difference in their care, where they receive care or the doctor or team treating them.

We’ve joined our orthopedic groups together so that we can bring all our resources, expertise and experience together to continually improve the orthopedic care that we provide.

WHAT DOES THE NAME CHANGE MEAN FOR PATIENTS?

For most patients there will be no noticeable everyday difference. Yes, we’ll have more great doctors and additional locations, but for the most part, we’ll stay the same – focused on providing the absolute best care for our patients.

Some benefits patients may experience with Golden State Orthopedics & Spine include:

  • Services closer to where patients live – such as Urgent Care, MRI or Physical Therapy
  • We’ll have more primary care sports medicine physicians which means easier access to initial consultations if a referral is needed to see an orthopedic specialist
  • Being a larger group allows us to share our medical expertise and resources so that we can stay at the forefront of thought leadership and technology as well as offer innovative treatment protocols – all for the benefit of our patients
  • Online scheduling will be available in 2022. This is a popular development that we know a lot of patients are looking forward to and so are we!

HOW MANY DOCTORS WILL GOLDEN STATE ORTHOPEDICS & SPINE (“GSOS”) HAVE?

Our team consists of 60 amazing doctors covering everything from neck to toe, from pediatrics to our most senior citizens. Every doctor will offer the same great care in the same locations as they did before – there will just be more of us. You’ll definitely recognize the friendly face of your GSOS doctor ;)

WILL THE STAFF CHANGE?

No, we’ll be keeping our wonderful employees who are so incredibly dedicated to your care and well-being and whom we greatly appreciate.

WHICH PHONE NUMBER SHOULD BE USED?

We are keeping all the same phone numbers for the time being.  ‘Course we’ll answer the phone as Golden State Orthopedics & Spine, so don’t think you’ve called the wrong number! To see all our phone numbers, visit our Contact Golden State Orthopedics & Spine page.

WILL THE BUILDING SIGNS CHANGE?

Yes (and No). For buildings that show our prior name, you’ll most likely see an additional sign for Golden State Orthopedics & Spine. For 2022 and perhaps longer, you’ll see both names on some of our buildings, just until everyone gets used to the new name. Beyond 2022, the prior name signs will be taken down.

WILL THE OFFICES AND CLINICS BE MOVING?

No, we won’t be changing our locations, we’ll just be adding more locations, thus offering more convenience for our patients. To see all our our orthopedic offices and physical therapy facilities, visit Our Locations page.

WILL THE WEBSITE CHANGE?

Our prior 3 website addresses will still be visible, but over time, we’ll move everything over to this website, our new address. When you’ve got a big family, it takes a few moving trucks and some time to pack up all those pages, photos, videos and so on and get them moved over to the new address!

WILL THE PATIENT PORTAL AND PAY-MY-BILL REMAIN THE SAME?

For the time being and for existing Muir Ortho and OrthoNorCal patients, yes. For Webster patients, unfortunately the patient portal and online bill pay will not be available as we upgrade the former Webster offices’ technology for these systems.
