I first met Dr. Gidvani, at Gloden State Orthopedic & Spine, after injuring my Back in 2017. I lifted a heavy object and blew out the L4 and L5 pads in my spine. I found him to be very friendly and pleasant person. He'll be honest and upfront with you about you condition and what can be done.
I've had 2 surgeries with him and both were successful! The last surgery was a Back Fusion, to stabilize my back. In both cases he told me what will happen before the surgery and visited me afterwards in the hospital. He was upfront with me that these is not a cures, but to prevent further injury.
I've returned to working full-time now, but I'm very carfull on how I move myself and what I'll lift. You need to be honest with yourself. There are no miracle cures for back injury!
Gloden State Orthopedic & Spine is very professional center with X-Ray technicians on site. Getting a Workers Comp appointment can be a bit challenging. You just need to be very, very, very persistent. 😆
I highly recommend Dr. Gidvani and Gloden State Orthopedic & Spine for any Orthopedic & Spine injuries! If I were to need additional Back surgery, this is where I'm going and Dr. Gidvani we be my surgeon!

Pre-surgery and the surgery was excellent. Post surgery I knocked one star off. It was difficult to communicate with the surgeon or his staff. I recommended adding a physician assistant for better communication.The Golden State Portal is not very responsive to patients request. I never received an answer to any questions or requests I posted. The surgeon was never contacted by administrative staff when I tried to make contact with him. That is a big problem.

Dr. Sagoo was so very kind and compassionate with me. I was apprehensive seeing a new doctor but, I had been told he was very nice. Well as it turned out he is wonderful, he explained what was wrong with my knee In layman’s terms. Together we devised a plan for my treatment. Dr. Seego appt on 3/13/24. Discussed my wife's constant lumbar spine pain. Doctor discussed recent and in-house x-ray images and results and provided medical assessments of wife's condition. Unfortunately, he said there was nothing he could do for her.
We highly recommend seeing and talking to Dr. Seego regarding your spine problems. He's very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.

The experience was wonderful, so when I needed a second orthopedic doctor I came back . Dr. Cohen answered my questions and made me feel like my surgery will go fine. Dr. Kevin Murray has done two rotator cuff surgeries on me, right shoulder 1/18 and left shoulder 1/23. Both surgeries involved multiple tendon tears but Dr. Murray was able to accomplish all repairs. You can trust Dr. Murray.

We had to wait about 30 minutes before being taken in an exam room. Fortunately, the lobby is welcoming and comfortable. We were seen by Dr. Kanel soon after. I appreciated his focused and serious attitude, we talked shortly but were given full attention. The injury turn out to be nothing, but I am glad we met Dr. Kanel. I believe we will be in good hands if we need to see him again in the future.

I carefully hand picked Dr. Blue a while back, probably more that 10 years now he has been our trusted family Doctor. When I first met him he was in a different practice, then he joined another practice, we follow him and now he decided he start his own practice, well guess what ? We will follow him again. The only issue I can think about each time something need to be checked is what will I do when Dr. Blue retired ? Dr Seago is the ultimate professional and very skilled spinal orthopedist. Unlike many practitioners, he takes the time to really explain the condition to the patient in a language they can understand. He is also an exceptional listener. Dr. Blue is my primary care Dr. and my "go-to" for sports injuries. After some bloodwork he saw that I was prediabetic and advised of some small lifestyle changes (low carbs and exercise 2x/week minimum). After a two-month follow-up and following his advice my A1C levels dropped back to normal!
Fast forward a few years I injured my knee skateboarding and he diagnosed a torn MCL, sprained LCL and partially torn ACL. After the torn ligaments healed I was back skateboarding and playing sports after just three months of rehab. I now have Dr. Blue take care of my son for his basketball-related injuries. I won't go anywhere else.

Dr Gidvani was amazing. All the X-ray, pre-op, hospital staff I came in contact with couldn’t say enough great things about him as a surgeon. They all said I was in the best hands with him. And I was! Very experienced, knowledgeable, caring surgeon.. I had very intensive lower back surgery I was nervous, but he did an amazing job. My only frustration was contacting the staff through the main number before the surgery. Sometimes I didn’t get a callback for a few days. Not always, but frustrating. Other than that my experience was fantastic. I highly recommend Dr Gidvani!!!

I had a fracture in my left arm and GoodSam emergency referred me to Dr. Kanel after X-ray confirmed a minor fracture. Front desk accommodated me and gave a next week day appointment. Everything was smooth on arrival and the staff were very friendly . No long waiting at the doctor’s exam room. He was very understanding, showed the X-ray on the screen and explained everything to put me at ease. Huge relief to hear it was only a hairline fracture. The whole experience deserves a 5 star rating. Highly recommend Dr. Kanel

Gidvani performed a successful SI joint fusion operation on me. I had pain in lower back, groin and leg due to arthritis. In retrospect , the SI fusion fixed my lower back pain but I needed a subsequent total hip replacement to fully resolve groin pain. The operated side of my lower back now feels great, I have no noticeable loss of flexibility due to the fusion.

Today was the 1st day I met him. It was a referral from Dr. Tina Mulomphy. She's awesome as well!! Dr. Sagoo. What a personality and bed side manner! Wow. He is kind hearted. He listens, asks questions. We went over my MRI from a previous surgery I had. We went over my Xrays from today. He has a smile. Not grouchy or grumpy! I say this, as I have seen many a dr in my 62 years, specifically these past 15 with a bad back, 2 bad hips & labrum tears. So I've seen many a personality! I cannot recommend this Dr. Enough, With any higher regard. I wish he could get 10 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 he most definitely would.

Thr girls are cordial and friendly and efficient. I think they do overbook just a bit as both times I came I waited 35 minutes post appointment time but it want too much inconvenience.

I have seen Dr. sagoo for over5 years now and followed him to different offices. In my opinion he is the one of the best orthopedic surgeon in the area. Not only the medical side but his personality is what really makes you feel like you’re in the best hands possible. You never feel rushed when you’re talking with him, he has time to explain or answer your questions, you always leave his office knowing what the plan for your treatment is. He really cares for his patients your not just a name and body part your a person. I would follow Dr. Sagoo to any office no matter how far he moved!!!! I came here for my kid to see Dr. Kanel for a broken wrist. The doctor listened to us and joked with my son to make him more comfortable. The office staff was kind and we felt that Dr. Kanel gave us sound advice and answered all of our questions.

Everyone I met from the receptionist, nursing staff, x-ray techs, and Dr Sagoo were very kind and compassionate people. I was in a lot of pain when I 1st went into see Dr Sagoo who diagnosed my problem as an arthritic hip. They walked me through the process and prepared me for complete hip replacement surgery. Within 6 weeks I was at Good Sam Hospital and Dr Sagoo and his team in approx 1 hour had completed the surgery. I woke up and the nursing staff at Good Sam had me up and walking within 2 hours after surgery. Now it has been 6 weeks and I am back to living life again without any pain. This was amazing to me and I’d like to thank everyone at Golden State Orthopedics and especially Dr Sagoo who is a highly skilled and professional surgeon who’s demeanor was always calm and reassuring to me throughout the whole process.

I would give 5* except finding parking close to the office is very difficult. Besides that 5* for the staff starting with receptionist, patient lounge, and assistant. All we’re friendly and make you feel important. My doctor is Randall Seago. I have yet to have surgery on my back but he takes to time to listen to health issues and concerns. In 2015 I had serious hip and knee pain. Found out my right hip needed full replacement. Dr Littlejohn who works with OrthoNorCal did amazing job when he retired I went to Dr Seago. Benn there ever since. He’s excellent and we discussed my options for my lower back pain. He gave me a few choices. We’ll discuss treatment next visit.

I've had back problems for some time and lately been aggravated by 2 serious falls. I've been with Dr. Ma and Dr. Blue for over a year now, and I've had 8 appointments with them. My experience with their billing me/Anthem has always been accurate.
I disagree with the reviews that state "beware of their billing practices". If you read before signing anything, their billing is fair and articulated clearly.
Regarding waiting time for appointments, I usually need to wait 5 minutes on the line until they join. In-person appointments, I've usually waited 10 minutes. Despite my usual impatience, this is one of the lowest wait times I've encountered across all doctors.
My personal experience has been great.

Thanks to them after my shoulder surgery i have regained fill range of movement in my shoulder witch i haven't had for years. Fate was smiling on me the day I found Dr. Poelstra and Nocal Orthopedic. My back was in so much pain that I had taken to walking with a cane. I had numbness and tingling down my legs and between my toes. Dr. Poelstra's staff was able to get me in very quickly. I came with my MRI and Dr. Poelstra consulted a radiologist on the spot because there was a questionable area on my spine. I was sent for a CT myelogram and the spot that had him concerned wasn't visible. He included me in the decision making of my care. I left the office with a clear path on what to do and if what we had decided on didn't help, then it was time for surgery. If you want to have confidence in your physician and be treated with compassion and professionalism go to this group.

I highly recommend Dr Gidvani. I had pretty bad back pain due to a herniated disc. After an MRI, Dr Gidvani explained my options very well and recommended a microscopic decompression. He did the surgery 10 days later and 4 days after I was able to attend an important conference for work. I was a bit tired but had no back pain. After doing PT I resumed running and I'm training for a 100K race with no back pain whatsoever. I am thankful to Dr Gidvani every day.

I can't say enough positive comments about my experiences with OrthoNorcal. I had seen Dr. Cohen once for shoulder pain. He gave me an injection of cortisone and I haven't had any problems since.
Months later, I was getting on a CalTrain after a Giants game and my right leg just gave out and I fell on the steps. Nothing that resulted in immediate treatment but when I got home I called Dr. Cohen. He got me in right away and after examination, told me that he was referring me to Dr. Seago. He said I might be in surgery that week and he was right.
I had a disc herniate and press against my back nerves, causing my leg to not respond to my nerve signals. Three days later, after surgery by Dr. Seago, I was recovering well. As far as I'm concerned, the quick action by both outstanding doctors kept me out of a wheelchair for life!
Then, feeling so great, I said I would change a faucet from under a sink for my neighbor. In an awkward position, I torqued my back and felt it go out again. Yes, second surgery by Dr. Seago and I'm doing great once more.
Then, mainly from age, my back started to hurt from stenosis and arthritis. That's when I met another great member of their staff, Dr. Molumphy. She deals in pain management and suggested I try an epidural before thinking of another surgery. I'm very glad to say that It worked, my pain is minimal, if at all most days, and my life is back to normal again. If you're reading this, then you or someone you know is in pain, don't wait any longer. Go see one of these great doctors.

I had an injury that resulted in a torn MCL, miniscus, and a blown ACL. Upon meeting Dr. Kevin Murray, I knew I found the right Dr. for my surgery.
At no time during all my visits did I ever feel rushed, or as if I was not his complete focus and #1 priority. He never failed to take his time and ensure all my questions were answered and needs were met. Amazing professional and bedside manner.
The day of my operation his team was absolutely first class! From the prep room to the point where I was put out, his team constantly checked on me. During that time, at least three different nurses and aids talked to me, reassuring me that everything was going to be ok.
It's now been just over two months since my procedure. While there is still a long recovery ahead, I now feel confident that my knee will be back to pre-injury condition if not better, once all the rehab is complete.

This place was referred to me by my chiropractor.
Dr. Coe and his assistant, Melissa examed my condition which required an operation on my lower back.
I think these two are a great team whom I became to appreciate.
Melissa was so thorough and attentive to details so that she could provide the best background of my pain to Dr. Coe.
My surgery was about a month ago now and I am recovering well.
Like some complaints about the overbooked schedule at this clinic, it is true and I also had a complaint. But I appreciated the candid response from Dr. Coe and Melissa. They do not control the appointment schedule but the clinic does. I always appreciate honest acceptance of the fact and concern instead of trying to cover and giving transparent excuses.

Dr. Gidvani did an excellent job with my micro-decompression back surgery and I was exceedingly worried about having the surgery. Everything went well and I am back riding my bike 15-25 miles, kayaking, etc. 5 months after surgery. The follow-up PT taught me to alter lifting and carrying in a more efficient and safe manner. Dr. Gidvani's assistant, Drew, is fantastic and a terrific compliment to Dr. Gidvani.

In my opinion, best place ever! Dr. Seago is amazing. I needed a second MAJOR back surgery in 9 years. I was terrified. Everything was all bad with my first surgery and I needed a second one. Dr. Seago did NOT perform my first surgery. I was terrified and he really helped ease that. The surgery he performed was over 8 hours and complicated, fixing what was done prior but he did it and my pain and movement after was SO much better than my first surgery. Even my family members were amazed at the difference. I normally don't do a lot of YELPS but this definitely needed a wonderful YELP!

Dr. Edward Littlejohn and his team replaced my left knee in early November. He has organized a team who beginning with my first visit all through the weeks following anticipated my questions and concerns with perceptive, caring and clearly understood answers. He gave me his Guide to the Knee which alerted me to what was coming and gave me action items to prepare. In the hospital, the entire 6th floor of Good Sam is devoted to joint repair, everyone who attended to my care was kind and competent. I am 7 weeks post-op and doing great. He has obviously listened and learned from his patients over the years and has designed a protocol to aid each patient with the care they need for a swift and successful surgery. His instructions to Silver Creek Physical Therapy are continuing my healing. At 80 years young, I am amazed and grateful to him and his team team. I thank God daily for sending me to Dr. Littlejohn at OrthoNorCal. If I could, I would award him 10++ stars.

In 2017 I met with Dr. Randall Se ago he operated on my spine and did a marvelous job, I can not thank him enough. In June of that year I met with Dr. Edward Littlejohn, he replaced my right knee and he also did a marvelous job. I can not thank these two surgeons enough for how they changed my life. They are the absolute best.
The staff is also the best as they are always courteous and friendly but very professional. Qualities that are hard to find in todays world of tread mill medicine. I highly recommend Ortho Nor Call to anyone who needs quality care.

I hadn't been back to the office to see Dr Abidi since my last review so I wanted to update. I went back as my other foot is now giving me problems. Dr Abidi ordered the same tests on my foot as before xrays, MRI and follow up with Beyond Prosthetics for new insoles and an ankle brace. Dr Abidi is very thorough. It may take time, patience and follow up to find out what the problem is but Dr Abidi knows his business. He also reviewed the xrays and MRI with me and explained what is going on. Unfortunately if this doesn't work surgery may be in my future but I must say I am very grateful that he was willing to work in a conservative fashion with treatment. I am not looking forward to being operated on but if it has to happen I would want him doing the work. I also like the fact that the office has an automated check in system so I can do all of it before I set foot in the office, cuts down on the overall wait time. Dr Abidi is straight forward, no nonsense but he does have a sense of humor. I also have to give a shout out to Jonah the assistant who helps out with the patients. Super sweet and great personal manner.

3 years ago, I had ankle surgery to repair a fracture. The pain never went away, and the doctor who did the surgery just shrugged her shoulders. I went to see Dr. Fisk, who immediately diagnosed the problem: a couple of too long screws shredding a major tendon. She did a quick surgery and removed the screws, and now, a few months later, my ankle is almost as good as new. Getting through on the phone can be troublesome, but it's worth it. I highly recommend Dr. Fisk.

A BIG 5-stars for Dr. Fisk and Jonah. I broke my Tibia bad (2 splits and a break). I'm still in the healing process (6 weeks) ~4 to go before PT. This whole experience has been wonderful because of 2 very big reasons Dr. Fisk and Jonah:
(1) Dr. Fisk is an outstanding doctor and surgeon and communicator. She spent time with me in the initial visit going over the surgery, what to expect, what the extent of the damage to my body was and what to expect short term and long term. She was excellent at direct communication, which I greatly appreciated, even if it was hard to hear. The surgery went exactly as explained; she met with my husband after and gave him the update. Two weeks after the surgery, I met with Dr. Fisk and she explained in very good detail what they found during surgery, gave me a more concise understanding of what to expect both long term and short term. I was impressed that she spent a significant amount of time with me explaining things and answering my list of questions. I was also pleased they wanted to take my stitches out early (glad I followed directions :-) ) Bottom line: Outstanding medical treatment!!!
(2) Jonah...what can I say, AWESOME!!!! Jonah is the interface to everything. I called him whenever I wanted to interface to the office. Jonah would answered the phone right away, or if I left voice mail he returned my call promptly. I think this was the experience ensured my 5-star review. When you're laid up, you worry and have questions...can't sleep, what to do about dry cracking skin, numbness, swelling...really any question. Well, having Jonah as a communication vehicle to the doctor was fantastic. I found that after the first 2 calls, I didn't need to call again. Just having that assurance helped. When I was in the office, Jonah always explained what was going to happen, even what possibilities could happen (e.g. stitches out early). I can't tell you how nice it is to get information and be allowed to process it for a bit. Even when I was going to x-ray and/or casting, Jonah would be checking on me and making sure not only that things were progressing, but that I was comfortable. Some time back when I took a hard fall on my forearm, I suffered a Croll's fracture of the radius. This was misdiagnosed at the time by my first medical contact as a sprain. After three months of benign neglect my wrist had healed in its own fashion, but there was still much swelling of the area and very limited range of motion. Feeling that the first doctor must surely have been mistaken in his diagnosis and approach to the problem, I sought Dr. Sendher's advise on that state of my "sprain." She quickly recognized it as a fracture that had healed in all the wrong ways. The time I had wasted between doctors put me at a disadvantage in terms of ever getting the full use of the wrist back to a normal state. But having warned me to temper my expectations, she then did a surgical open reduction with bone graft, sent me to a specialist in hand PT, and advised me that much of the outcome would likely be up to me in terms of my dedication to doing that the physical therapist recommended.
Well, the road to recovery was indeed a slow slog, but I am happy to report that I now have no swelling in the wrist, no limitations, and full range of motion. My hands and wrists match! Even the scar from the open reduction is very minimal. I can't say enough good things about this doctor's approach to my problem. She was straight-on in her diagnosis, honest about my prospects, and helpful in terms of assisting me to realize that I would have to be part of the solution. I am so grateful. You never realize how important your hands are until something like this happens.

First of all, let me say, that Dr. Gidvani and his staff have been wonderfuls, but I have not had the surgery yet.
My review is on the staff who book appointments and answer the phones.
The first time I called I was in horrible pain, on my back, at home. My insurance web-site said Orthonorcal was a PPO. I called Orthnorcal, the woman on the phone was very rude. While I was on the phone with her, I was also looking at my insurance information on thie website. That page had all of my information and the insurance company, Anthem BlueCross, information. She told me I had to call my insurance and get a different number from them (I don't remember what she called it) before Orthoqnorcal could confirm they were a PPO. I didn't understand why I had to do that, no other PPO has needed me to do that, but I said Ok, and called BlueCross. Bluecross did not know why she needed the number, but they gave it to me. I called Orthonorcal back, I got a different woman on the phone. She was worse than the first one. She didn't care about that number, she wanted the zip code for BlueCross that was on the back on my card! My card was downstairs. I told her I was looking at the BlueCross web site for coverage and I had all the information. She insisted on the zip code that was on the card. Keep in mind, I am in terrible pain. I told her this, and I told her the card was downstairs and there was no one to get it for me. She was awful. Her tone of voice was very rude and I was starting to get cranky and frustrated. Finally I told her I would get up and get the zip code, just give me a minute. She hung up on me! I almost didn't call her back. But a while later I finally did. She finally confirmed they were a PPO for my insurance and made the appointment. It was a terrible experience. I have never gone through so many hoops to confirm a provider and make an appointment.Thank goodness Dr. Gidvani and staff are great. The MRI staff are also very nice and professional. But I dread making calls for appointments. I will review again after my surgery.
I'm updating my review of orthonorcal. I had my surgery. Dr. Gidvani was fabulous. El Camino Hospital where I had it done was also excellent. My recovery has been very good and Dr. Gidvani and his staff have been very responsive to my needs. I had a disk implant in my neck at C5/C6 vertebrae.
I also wonder if someone at their orthonorcal facility didn't see my review about their answering service. The last few times I've been there they have been exceedingly nice, and they have been far more responsive when I've had to make phone calls. They still don't get back to you in a timely fashion if you have to leave a message with the appointment desk. I've learned to pick the selection for doctors and medical clinics versus the appointment desk, that way I get attention right away. Overall it has been a very good experience. I will definitely go back there.

After an improbable (and totally clumsy) fall in my house that internally nearly detached my right arm, I was really thankful that Good Sam ER recommended Dr. Kevin Murray of OrthoNorCal. Not only did he surgically reattach all the muscles and tendons and ligaments successfully, but he did it with a personable and calm demeanor and excellent humor!
Just graduated today after a year of treatment (including physical therapy at Quinn PT with the incomparable Tina Beck). Over the last year, Dr. Murray and the staff (Joe and Donna really stand out) treated me with respect and friendship, were clear on the expectations, the amount of work needed to fully recover, supported and cheered my progress and made the year fly by.
I hope never to need an orthopedic specialist again, but if I do, I am headed back to OrthoNorCal and Dr. Kevin Murray

Dr. Gidvani and his assistant Vikram were amazing! Dr. Gidvani was very accommodating in explaining and walking me through the surgical process. I felt very comfortable asking question pre and post surgery. Vikram was very helpful and diligent in getting back to me with any paper work or converns I had over the phone. You Just Never Know
You never know when you'll need a truly great surgeon but one thing for sure, when you NEED one you want the absolute BEST.
So, when my husband took a great fall from a ladder in our front yard and hit the concrete like a fragile Humpty Dumpty, I was assuming I'd get the BEST care available from the closest hospital.
That was not the case.
Instead of receiving the immediate care he needed for his seriously fractured leg he was treated so poorly I saw tears in his eyes. There was my strong husband in so much pain it made him cry in agony.
I refuse to even go into that mess due to the stress is STILL causes us both when we even THINK of that hideous place.
Frightened by the lack of care we received I immediately took my husband home and began searching for a surgeon we could TRUST.
This is where things get better.
We called NorCalOrtho and got in as soon as possible. My husband was treated with dignity and kindness beginning with the front desk staff. The gentle care of those ladies at the front desk was such a breath of fresh air after what my husband had been through at the hospital I first took him to. The front desk of any facility is its first connection to the patient. This place has it all down pat! It's not fake... they truly care about you as a human being and in the end that's all any of us truly want.
We were introduced to Erica G. Fisk MD and her assistant Makena. Instantly we could tell that they were truly dedicated to to their work. Both of them recognized the great amount of pain my husband was is and the severity of his injuries and took immediate action to help him. No horsing around with these two. Patient comfort was their first concern and from there they quickly assessed what measures needed to be taken as soon as possible. They both kept us abreast of everything going on with his leg and made us feel comfortable making the decisions we needed to make from there on.
Immediately I wanted to gush all over these two women thanking them with all of my heart. NOW WE KNEW WE WERE IN GREAT HANDS. What a relief for us both.
There were tricks and tangles with our insurance which the NorCalOrtho staff was kind enough to help us understand and work through with us- kinda holding our hand a bit.
We'd never been hurt before so neither of us knew a thing about this end of our medical insurance.
What a relief to have such well informed, calm and helpful folks to guide us through this mess.

Never having a broken bone before, my husband was very nervous about his surgery. Dr. Fisk was on top of everything and that alone made us feel that he was in good hands. Still, surgery is scary if you've never experienced it before but there Dr. Fisk was with Makena by her side walking us through each step carefully and kindly.
Truthfully, this made a HUGE difference in how we both felt as he was wheeled into surgery. I didn't feel stressed out or worried at all. Honestly, I felt calm and I was able to focus on giving my husband all of my positive energy and that was a blessing.
After surgery he had more visits and then the casting began. The staff members who helped him with each of his casts and 2 braces were very knowledgeable in their field and were gentle, kind and caring each visit. It made us feel GREAT to be treated so well. They explained each thing they did and why, how to use the casts or braces and what to look out for. Good information with a sincere smile. How nice!
My husband ended up having three surgeries in which he received care from Dr. Erica Fisk and in each case she was superior. Absolutely PRIMO! She cared enough to show up on time, explain everything she was going to do in detail, ask my husband about his physical being before surgery, ask him if there was anything else he was concerned about before opening him up (he said he had pain in his ankle and pointed to it) and informed us that IF she found anything where he had pointed to she would take care of that during his surgery. As it turned out there was a problem area and she did take care of it. After his surgery Dr. Fisk came out into the waiting room outside and clearly define what the problem was, how she corrected it and how long it would take for my husbands new surgery to heal. She even took photos of the surgery for me so I could actually SEE what she saw and how she corrected it for him.

I am yelping Dr. Gidvani. I have had chronic neck pain and nerve pain for 4 years now and this year decided with his help to have surgery to fix two herniated disks. I had tried everything with other doctors, like therapy, chiropractor's, steroid injections and massage, but they wouldn't last long and some made it worse. I finally found Dr. Gidvani through my insurance. It was my first time dealing with the doctor so I was little hesitant seeing that I wanted surgery. After the first meeting, I knew he was the guy and I moved forward. I had surgery on my neck and can say today I am 100% pain free and have most of the motion back in my neck. I can now do the things I used to do with any pain. Pain make you old and I feel like I am getting my youth back again. I highly recommend Dr. Gidvani for any back related injury. He worked wonders on my neck and I am so glad I picked his name when it came time to have this procedure done. 2 Thumbs up and 5 stars!

As someone who works in the Medical Field, I tend to be a little "picky" about service and care I receive for myself and my kids. That being said, I loved Dr. Kanel.. My son broke and dislocated his hand very badly during lunch at school. By 2pm we were sitting in Dr Kanel's office. Due to him fitting me in I was able to avoid having to take my son to an ER. And 6 weeks earlier when my son had a minor fracture in his leg (of course a weekend)...we were at the ER and Dr Kanel was called because we had taken my other kid to see him so our family was "established" with his office. The ER Dr didnt feel the Specialist needed to come to see us at the ER but just to let Dr Kanel know what happened and let him know what they did for my son in the mean time. Not only did he call me that same day, but he checked in again the following day to see how he was doing and to let me know he'd make sure to get him in the next day (Monday). The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because the front desk staff can be a little short and less than welcoming. But that could happen to anyone, anyday, any dr office. I also ask my fellow Yelpers to keep something in mind when you are writing a review about a Dr. If you are seen in an ER...the Dr isn't always on call and if they are not, yes...it may take time for them to get to the ER. If that is the best specialist for your injury/illness and they are not on call, wouldn't you rather wait than get someone who isn't the best? Also, the result you are "hoping for" isn't always realistic or the best way to treat whatever you are dealing with. Don't give a Dr a bad review just because things didn't go according to YOUR plan or ideas. Believe me, if anything I'm harsher than the average person.

I came in to see Dr. Murray after seeing another surgeon for pain in my shoulder. My previous doctor gave me 3 separate cortizone shots over a few months that didn't work. I came in to see Dr. Murray for a second opinion and decided because of his knowledge, experience with sports injuries and compassionate nature, that I would have him perform my surgery. We found that there was A LOT more going on in my shoulder than previously diagnosed. I am so happy that I chose Dr. Murray, because my shoulder is much better after surgery and I really enjoy going to see him and his friendly staff. It's important to feel like you are cared about, and I get that at OrthoNorCal. His assistant, Rudy is great too!

I saw Dr. Kevin Murray here first for knee pain, and then again for foot pain. He has a very personable way about him and I am very happy that I was able to be in his care. So the knee is getting better although I have to give up some high impact activity that I don't want to.
The foot pain which has been bothering me for years is now GONE!! He gave me some small exercises to do every day and it WORKS! It's unbelievable! I couldn't be more thankful!

Dr. Sandeep Gidvani essentially gave up most of a weekend to operate and relieve back pain and herniated discs that had resulted in a hospital admission. I walked out of the hospital hours after back surgery and have not needed pain medication for the 3 weeks since. I cannot recommend him highly enough, he is a wonderful, caring doctor.

Dr. Kanel is absolutely fantastic! My 16 year old ruptured her achilles tendon playing soccer and since her first visit, he has taken the utmost care in her surgery and healing process. The decisions he has made for her have been spot on and never once has he been unavailable to answer any of our questions. My 17 year old son was assessed in the ER and as a result we were referred out to Dr. Kanel. After meeting with Dr. Kanel we decided surgery was needed. My daughter has been a patient of Dr. Kanel for 14 years now, and he is the reason she can walk today. She was diagnosed with Ollier's Disease, a rare bone disorder, at 3 years old. This disease causes bowing of bones and limb length discrepancies, and in many cases lengthening of the bone is necessary. We took her all over the bay area to find the most experienced doctor to perform this complicated surgery, and we found him right here in Los Gatos. Dr. Kanel performed 2 lengthening surgeries on her femur. He is an expert in this field with years of experience. He is also cutting edge on all new procedures being used out there. Over the years, Dr. Kanel performed around 8 surgeries on my daughter (kinda lost track). He repaired broken bones, did bone graphs and inserted nails and pins into the bone. Without his expertise she would not have legs the same length. We are forever grateful to him. Now that she is full grown our visits to Dr. Kanel have slowed down, but when we have an appointment it's like going to see family. Dr. Kanel has seen us through some very hard times, and it was his kindness and the way he truly cared about all of us that got us through. It is rare to find a doctor who is both compassionate and talented.

My son can walk because of Dr. Jeffery Kanel. My son was born with bilateral clubfoot, meaning his feet were severely twisted at birth. Dr. Kanel started treatment on day two of Zach's life with serial casting (a new cast each week) from foot to hip. It became apparent that surgery would be needed at six months old, and Dr. Kanel was there for us. Zach started walking before he was through with the serial casts following surgery. It was definitely a process, but also very do-able. Zach had a very normal childhood; most of his friends didn't know he had a problem with his feet until he told them.
Learning to drive proved to be extremely painful for Zach; his ankle bones were moving, flexing the connective tissue between the bones. So at 16 he had major reconstructive surgery again. This time his ankle bones were fused together around metal plates . Yes, first the right foot, then the left foot. Eight months in a wheelchair his Junior year in high school. Let's just say memories were made! He is now healed and driving again, working on building up his endurance and strength in his legs.
Dr. Kanel gave Zach so much. He helped us (parents) understand that surgery was absolutely required, and was clear about what to expect in recovery. He kept Zach (patient) laughing and feeling comfortable about the process, even though there was quite a bit of pain to endure.
We first met Dr. Kanel because Zach was born in Los Gatos (close to his office). We got lucky; our pediatrician hunted him down. Thank you Dr. Naughten! We moved out of the area when Zach was almost two. It is worth the 400 mile drive (one way) to be his patient. Nobody else will work on Zach's ankles; I won't let them! His office has been very helpful in scheduling appointments at convenient times due to our long distance situation.
Dr. Kanel is an expert; this is who you want as your orthopedic surgeon. "Thank you" is not enough; we are so grateful!

I've seen Dr Seago for years (ex race car driver turned cyclist). I recently was hit on my bike. Dr Seago was out of town so Dr Kanel took care of me, inserting a plate and 8 screws to repair my clavicle. Dr Seago, Dr Kanel and the entire office staff were wonderful to me and made the experience as good as it could be under the circumstances. The work Dr Kanel performed, putting my clavicle back together, was great. 2 weeks later, I'm able to use my arm to do daily things and expect to be back on the bike in 2 more. Dr Kanel was very friendly, pleasant, caring, gentle and understanding of my needs. I highly recommend OrthoNorCal to anyone that has any Orthopedic needs.

Five stars don't even come close to the amount of stars Dr. Kanel and his staff should receive in my review. If I were to write a memoir of my life as a parent to a child with Cerbral Palsy my encounters with this office would take up a good portion of the book. Those chapters would be among the most heartfelt and inspiring part of my story and my daughter's. His expertise goes beyond his ability as surgeon (which has been remarkable.) He understands my daugher and addresses her needs, he listens to her and recommends what is best for her. As for Gloria Werkema . . . don't even get me started. She can take a saw to my daughter's leg anytime (for the purposes of cutting off a cast of course.) Dr. Kanel came to me by way of a recommendation from my pediatrician 15 years ago and by my sister whose daughter had hip surgery. I have referred him to countless other parents who have all had great experiences. Dr. Kanel even treated me for what I was convinced a broken ankle. To our relief . . . the ankle was only sprained.

I have been a patient of Dr. Jeffrey Kanel for more years than I can remember. He is a very caring doctor who agreed to take my case even though I am not a pediatric patient. My medical issues are very complex and have often necessitated referrals to other specialists. Dr. Kanel has always made sure that I got the best care possible. Dr. Kanel is an amazing surgeon. I had severe knee pain. Turns out it was hyperextended for 34 years due to an accident in 1979. My shin bone needed to be broken again so it could heal straight this time. Dr. Kanel did the needful osteoplasty with an external fixator. After 6 mos., all was great! He even lengthened my leg to match the other, fixing all kinds of back pain from which I suffered for decades. As others have said, his bedside manner may not be as warm and comforting as some may prefer. But when it comes to a complex surgery like mine with osteoplasty, Dr. Kanel knows his stuff where it counts! Wish I would have met many him years ago!

This is a review for Dr. Kanel over at OrthoNorcal.
I came to Dr. Kanel with a rotational problem in the tibia after years of pain which disabled my prior level of sports performance and was a huge concern for as long as i can remmember. A slew of orthopedic specialists and co-pays could not solve my problems and it seemed a cure was hopeless.
When i came to Dr. Kanel's office there was an immediate sense of professionalism. I was treated very kindly by all the staff and everyone was willing to work with the fact i lived about an hour away from the office. My Xrays were done in an organized process, and all insurance affairs were handled smoothly and immediately, there have not been delayed or unexpected bills coming in like they had with other doctors i had seen.
Upon meeting Dr. Kanel it was obvious he is very skilled in communicating with his patients. He really cares about you as a person. not you as a room number or just another patient. He takes his time with each appointment and dedicates himself to truly assessing a situation. he examined me the longest of any other orthopedist i met with. Dr. Kanel was also hugely respectful of my mom and I's financial situation, providing unrivaled medical care along with going above and beyond to make his expert care affordable. I can never thank him enough.
I am not a yelp reviewer in general. i am a patient who found the true concern and medical expertise of Dr. Kanel and this establishment to be so stellar that i felt a duty to help make it standout, as it is so far beyond the care i have received anywhere else in my life. I first met Dr. Gidvani, at Gloden State Orthopedic & Spine, after injuring my Back in 2017. I lifted a heavy object and blew out the L4 and L5 pads in my spine. I found him to be very friendly and pleasant person. He'll be honest and upfront with you about you condition and what can be done. I've had 2 surgeries with him and both were successful! The last surgery was a Back Fusion, to stabilize my back. In both cases he told me what will happen before the surgery and visited me afterwards in the hospital. He was upfront with me that these is not a cures, but to prevent further injury. I've returned to working full-time now, but I'm very carfull on how I move myself and what I'll lift. You need to be honest with yourself. There are no miracle cures for back injury! Gloden State Orthopedic & Spine is very professional center with X-Ray technicians on site. Getting a Workers Comp appointment can be a bit challenging. You just need to be very, very, very persistent. 😆 I highly recommend Dr. Gidvani and Gloden State Orthopedic & Spine for any Orthopedic & Spine injuries! If I were to need additional Back surgery, this is where I'm going and Dr. Gidvani we be my surgeon!

Pre-surgery and the surgery was excellent. Post surgery I knocked one star off. It was difficult to communicate with the surgeon or his staff. I recommended adding a physician assistant for better communication.The Golden State Portal is not very responsive to patients request. I never received an answer to any questions or requests I posted. The surgeon was never contacted by administrative staff when I tried to make contact with him. That is a big problem.

Dr. Seego appt on 3/13/24. Discussed my wife's constant lumbar spine pain. Doctor discussed recent and in-house x-ray images and results and provided medical assessments of wife's condition. Unfortunately, he said there was nothing he could do for her. We highly recommend seeing and talking to Dr. Seego regarding your spine problems. He's very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.

The experience was wonderful, so when I needed a second orthopedic doctor I came back . Dr. Cohen answered my questions and made me feel like my surgery will go fine. We had to wait about 30 minutes before being taken in an exam room. Fortunately, the lobby is welcoming and comfortable. We were seen by Dr. Kanel soon after. I appreciated his focused and serious attitude, we talked shortly but were given full attention. The injury turn out to be nothing, but I am glad we met Dr. Kanel. I believe we will be in good hands if we need to see him again in the future.

Dr Seago is the ultimate professional and very skilled spinal orthopedist. Unlike many practitioners, he takes the time to really explain the condition to the patient in a language they can understand. He is also an exceptional listener. My lumbar situation is somewhat complicated and he considers all conservative approaches first before recommending surgery. Dr. Blue is my primary care Dr. and my "go-to" for sports injuries. After some bloodwork he saw that I was prediabetic and advised of some small lifestyle changes (low carbs and exercise 2x/week minimum). After a two-month follow-up and following his advice my A1C levels dropped back to normal! Fast forward a few years I injured my knee skateboarding and he diagnosed a torn MCL, sprained LCL and partially torn ACL. After the torn ligaments healed I was back skateboarding and playing sports after just three months of rehab. I now have Dr. Blue take care of my son for his basketball-related injuries. I won't go anywhere else.
Dr Gidvani was amazing. All the X-ray, pre-op, hospital staff I came in contact with couldn’t say enough great things about him as a surgeon. They all said I was in the best hands with him. And I was! Very experienced, knowledgeable, caring surgeon.. I had very intensive lower back surgery I was nervous, but he did an amazing job. My only frustration was contacting the staff through the main number before the surgery. Sometimes I didn’t get a callback for a few days. Not always, but frustrating. Other than that my experience was fantastic. I highly recommend Dr Gidvani!!!
I had a fracture in my left arm and GoodSam emergency referred me to Dr. Kanel after X-ray confirmed a minor fracture. Front desk accommodated me and gave a next week day appointment. Everything was smooth on arrival and the staff were very friendly . No long waiting at the doctor’s exam room. He was very understanding, showed the X-ray on the screen and explained everything to put me at ease. Huge relief to hear it was only a hairline fracture. The whole experience deserves a 5 star rating. Highly recommend Dr. Kanel

Gidvani performed a successful SI joint fusion operation on me. I had pain in lower back, groin and leg due to arthritis. In retrospect , the SI fusion fixed my lower back pain but I needed a subsequent total hip replacement to fully resolve groin pain. The operated side of my lower back now feels great, I have no noticeable loss of flexibility due to the fusion.
I was recommended to Dr. Coe for a treatment of sciatica. He is very methodical in treatments he puts me through and has my wellfare in mind. I trust him and after months of few epidural injections that were not a final solution we decided it's time for a surgery. As veird as it sounds I am looking forward to it. I came here for my kid to see Dr. Kanel for a broken wrist. The doctor listened to us and joked with my son to make him more comfortable. The office staff was kind and we felt that Dr. Kanel gave us sound advice and answered all of our questions. Everyone I met from the receptionist, nursing staff, x-ray techs, and Dr Sagoo were very kind and compassionate people. I was in a lot of pain when I 1st went into see Dr Sagoo who diagnosed my problem as an arthritic hip. They walked me through the process and prepared me for complete hip replacement surgery. Within 6 weeks I was at Good Sam Hospital and Dr Sagoo and his team in approx 1 hour had completed the surgery. I woke up and the nursing staff at Good Sam had me up and walking within 2 hours after surgery. Now it has been 6 weeks and I am back to living life again without any pain. This was amazing to me and I’d like to thank everyone at Golden State Orthopedics and especially Dr Sagoo who is a highly skilled and professional surgeon who’s demeanor was always calm and reassuring to me throughout the whole process.

I would give 5* except finding parking close to the office is very difficult. Besides that 5* for the staff starting with receptionist, patient lounge, and assistant. All we’re friendly and make you feel important. My doctor is Randall Seago. I have yet to have surgery on my back but he takes to time to listen to health issues and concerns. In 2015 I had serious hip and knee pain. Found out my right hip needed full replacement. Dr Littlejohn who works with OrthoNorCal did amazing job when he retired I went to Dr Seago. Benn there ever since. He’s excellent and we discussed my options for my lower back pain. He gave me a few choices. We’ll discuss treatment next visit.

I've been with Dr. Ma and Dr. Blue for over a year now, and I've had 8 appointments with them. My experience with their billing me/Anthem has always been accurate. I disagree with the reviews that state "beware of their billing practices". If you read before signing anything, their billing is fair and articulated clearly. Regarding waiting time for appointments, I usually need to wait 5 minutes on the line until they join. In-person appointments, I've usually waited 10 minutes. Despite my usual impatience, this is one of the lowest wait times I've encountered across all doctors. My personal experience has been great.
I've taken my mother to Orthnocal for multiple injuries and everyone is competent and professional. She's seen several of the doctors and many of the support staff and I am very pleased that they have all been the height of professionalism -- even when Mom has been "cranky".

Fate was smiling on me the day I found Dr. Poelstra and Nocal Orthopedic. My back was in so much pain that I had taken to walking with a cane. I had numbness and tingling down my legs and between my toes. Dr. Poelstra's staff was able to get me in very quickly. I came with my MRI and Dr. Poelstra consulted a radiologist on the spot because there was a questionable area on my spine. I was sent for a CT myelogram and the spot that had him concerned wasn't visible. He included me in the decision making of my care. I left the office with a clear path on what to do and if what we had decided on didn't help, then it was time for surgery. If you want to have confidence in your physician and be treated with compassion and professionalism go to this group.
I highly recommend Dr Gidvani. I had pretty bad back pain due to a herniated disc. After an MRI, Dr Gidvani explained my options very well and recommended a microscopic decompression. He did the surgery 10 days later and 4 days after I was able to attend an important conference for work. I was a bit tired but had no back pain. After doing PT I resumed running and I'm training for a 100K race with no back pain whatsoever. I am thankful to Dr Gidvani every day.
I can't say enough positive comments about my experiences with OrthoNorcal. I had seen Dr. Cohen once for shoulder pain. He gave me an injection of cortisone and I haven't had any problems since. Months later, I was getting on a CalTrain after a Giants game and my right leg just gave out and I fell on the steps. Nothing that resulted in immediate treatment but when I got home I called Dr. Cohen. He got me in right away and after examination, told me that he was referring me to Dr. Seago. He said I might be in surgery that week and he was right. I had a disc herniate and press against my back nerves, causing my leg to not respond to my nerve signals. Three days later, after surgery by Dr. Seago, I was recovering well. As far as I'm concerned, the quick action by both outstanding doctors kept me out of a wheelchair for life! Then, feeling so great, I said I would change a faucet from under a sink for my neighbor. In an awkward position, I torqued my back and felt it go out again. Yes, second surgery by Dr. Seago and I'm doing great once more. Then, mainly from age, my back started to hurt from stenosis and arthritis. That's when I met another great member of their staff, Dr. Molumphy. She deals in pain management and suggested I try an epidural before thinking of another surgery. I'm very glad to say that It worked, my pain is minimal, if at all most days, and my life is back to normal again. If you're reading this, then you or someone you know is in pain, don't wait any longer. Go see one of these great doctors.
I had an injury that resulted in a torn MCL, miniscus, and a blown ACL. Upon meeting Dr. Kevin Murray, I knew I found the right Dr. for my surgery. At no time during all my visits did I ever feel rushed, or as if I was not his complete focus and #1 priority. He never failed to take his time and ensure all my questions were answered and needs were met. Amazing professional and bedside manner. The day of my operation his team was absolutely first class! From the prep room to the point where I was put out, his team constantly checked on me. During that time, at least three different nurses and aids talked to me, reassuring me that everything was going to be ok. It's now been just over two months since my procedure. While there is still a long recovery ahead, I now feel confident that my knee will be back to pre-injury condition if not better, once all the rehab is complete. THANK YOU Dr. Murray and his staff!
This place was referred to me by my chiropractor. Dr. Coe and his assistant, Melissa examed my condition which required an operation on my lower back. I think these two are a great team whom I became to appreciate. Melissa was so thorough and attentive to details so that she could provide the best background of my pain to Dr. Coe. My surgery was about a month ago now and I am recovering well. Like some complaints about the overbooked schedule at this clinic, it is true and I also had a complaint. But I appreciated the candid response from Dr. Coe and Melissa. They do not control the appointment schedule but the clinic does. I always appreciate honest acceptance of the fact and concern instead of trying to cover and giving transparent excuses. Anyone who has back pain issues, I recommend this place, Dr. Coe and Melissa. Dr. Gidvani did an excellent job with my micro-decompression back surgery and I was exceedingly worried about having the surgery. Everything went well and I am back riding my bike 15-25 miles, kayaking, etc. 5 months after surgery. The follow-up PT taught me to alter lifting and carrying in a more efficient and safe manner. Dr. Gidvani's assistant, Drew, is fantastic and a terrific compliment to Dr. Gidvani.
In my opinion, best place ever! Dr. Seago is amazing. I needed a second MAJOR back surgery in 9 years. I was terrified. Everything was all bad with my first surgery and I needed a second one. Dr. Seago did NOT perform my first surgery. I was terrified and he really helped ease that. The surgery he performed was over 8 hours and complicated, fixing what was done prior but he did it and my pain and movement after was SO much better than my first surgery. Even my family members were amazed at the difference. I normally don't do a lot of YELPS but this definitely needed a wonderful YELP!
Dr. Edward Littlejohn and his team replaced my left knee in early November. He has organized a team who beginning with my first visit all through the weeks following anticipated my questions and concerns with perceptive, caring and clearly understood answers. He gave me his Guide to the Knee which alerted me to what was coming and gave me action items to prepare. In the hospital, the entire 6th floor of Good Sam is devoted to joint repair, everyone who attended to my care was kind and competent. I am 7 weeks post-op and doing great. He has obviously listened and learned from his patients over the years and has designed a protocol to aid each patient with the care they need for a swift and successful surgery. His instructions to Silver Creek Physical Therapy are continuing my healing. At 80 years young, I am amazed and grateful to him and his team team. I thank God daily for sending me to Dr. Littlejohn at OrthoNorCal. If I could, I would award him 10++ stars.
In 2017 I met with Dr. Randall Se ago he operated on my spine and did a marvelous job, I can not thank him enough. In June of that year I met with Dr. Edward Littlejohn, he replaced my right knee and he also did a marvelous job. I can not thank these two surgeons enough for how they changed my life. They are the absolute best. The staff is also the best as they are always courteous and friendly but very professional. Qualities that are hard to find in todays world of tread mill medicine. I highly recommend Ortho Nor Call to anyone who needs quality care.
I hadn't been back to the office to see Dr Abidi since my last review so I wanted to update. I went back as my other foot is now giving me problems. Dr Abidi ordered the same tests on my foot as before xrays, MRI and follow up with Beyond Prosthetics for new insoles and an ankle brace. Dr Abidi is very thorough. It may take time, patience and follow up to find out what the problem is but Dr Abidi knows his business. He also reviewed the xrays and MRI with me and explained what is going on. Unfortunately if this doesn't work surgery may be in my future but I must say I am very grateful that he was willing to work in a conservative fashion with treatment. I am not looking forward to being operated on but if it has to happen I would want him doing the work. I also like the fact that the office has an automated check in system so I can do all of it before I set foot in the office, cuts down on the overall wait time. Dr Abidi is straight forward, no nonsense but he does have a sense of humor. I also have to give a shout out to Jonah the assistant who helps out with the patients. Super sweet and great personal manner.
3 years ago, I had ankle surgery to repair a fracture. The pain never went away, and the doctor who did the surgery just shrugged her shoulders. I went to see Dr. Fisk, who immediately diagnosed the problem: a couple of too long screws shredding a major tendon. She did a quick surgery and removed the screws, and now, a few months later, my ankle is almost as good as new. Getting through on the phone can be troublesome, but it's worth it. I highly recommend Dr. Fisk.

This whole experience has been wonderful because of 2 very big reasons Dr. Fisk and Jonah: (1) Dr. Fisk is an outstanding doctor and surgeon and communicator. She spent time with me in the initial visit going over the surgery, what to expect, what the extent of the damage to my body was and what to expect short term and long term. She was excellent at direct communication, which I greatly appreciated, even if it was hard to hear. The surgery went exactly as explained; she met with my husband after and gave him the update. Two weeks after the surgery, I met with Dr. Fisk and she explained in very good detail what they found during surgery, gave me a more concise understanding of what to expect both long term and short term. I was impressed that she spent a significant amount of time with me explaining things and answering my list of questions. I was also pleased they wanted to take my stitches out early (glad I followed directions :-) ) Bottom line: Outstanding medical treatment!!! (2) Jonah...what can I say, AWESOME!!!! Jonah is the interface to everything. I called him whenever I wanted to interface to the office. Jonah would answered the phone right away, or if I left voice mail he returned my call promptly. I think this was the experience ensured my 5-star review. When you're laid up, you worry and have questions...can't sleep, what to do about dry cracking skin, numbness, swelling...really any question. Well, having Jonah as a communication vehicle to the doctor was fantastic. I found that after the first 2 calls, I didn't need to call again. Just having that assurance helped. When I was in the office, Jonah always explained what was going to happen, even what possibilities could happen (e.g. stitches out early). I can't tell you how nice it is to get information and be allowed to process it for a bit. Even when I was going to x-ray and/or casting, Jonah would be checking on me and making sure not only that things were progressing, but that I was comfortable. Jonah has a wonderfully pleasant and professional manner. Thanks TONS, Jonah. I want to add a couple of quick additions making an overall great experience. *Jessica* in x-ray. Some time back when I took a hard fall on my forearm, I suffered a Croll's fracture of the radius. This was misdiagnosed at the time by my first medical contact as a sprain. After three months of benign neglect my wrist had healed in its own fashion, but there was still much swelling of the area and very limited range of motion. Feeling that the first doctor must surely have been mistaken in his diagnosis and approach to the problem, I sought Dr. Sendher's advise on that state of my "sprain." She quickly recognized it as a fracture that had healed in all the wrong ways. The time I had wasted between doctors put me at a disadvantage in terms of ever getting the full use of the wrist back to a normal state. But having warned me to temper my expectations, she then did a surgical open reduction with bone graft, sent me to a specialist in hand PT, and advised me that much of the outcome would likely be up to me in terms of my dedication to doing that the physical therapist recommended. Well, the road to recovery was indeed a slow slog, but I am happy to report that I now have no swelling in the wrist, no limitations, and full range of motion. My hands and wrists match! Even the scar from the open reduction is very minimal. I can't say enough good things about this doctor's approach to my problem. She was straight-on in her diagnosis, honest about my prospects, and helpful in terms of assisting me to realize that I would have to be part of the solution. I am so grateful. You never realize how important your hands are until something like this happens. My husband and I have both had very positive experiences with Dr. Cohen as well. He has a very congenial way about him, but truly knows his stuff. I would highly recommend him as well.
First of all, let me say, that Dr. Gidvani and his staff have been wonderfuls, but I have not had the surgery yet. My review is on the staff who book appointments and answer the phones. The first time I called I was in horrible pain, on my back, at home. My insurance web-site said Orthonorcal was a PPO. I called Orthnorcal, the woman on the phone was very rude. While I was on the phone with her, I was also looking at my insurance information on thie website. That page had all of my information and the insurance company, Anthem BlueCross, information. She told me I had to call my insurance and get a different number from them (I don't remember what she called it) before Orthoqnorcal could confirm they were a PPO. I didn't understand why I had to do that, no other PPO has needed me to do that, but I said Ok, and called BlueCross. Bluecross did not know why she needed the number, but they gave it to me. I called Orthonorcal back, I got a different woman on the phone. She was worse than the first one. She didn't care about that number, she wanted the zip code for BlueCross that was on the back on my card! My card was downstairs. I told her I was looking at the BlueCross web site for coverage and I had all the information. She insisted on the zip code that was on the card. Keep in mind, I am in terrible pain. I told her this, and I told her the card was downstairs and there was no one to get it for me. She was awful. Her tone of voice was very rude and I was starting to get cranky and frustrated. Finally I told her I would get up and get the zip code, just give me a minute. She hung up on me! I almost didn't call her back. But a while later I finally did. She finally confirmed they were a PPO for my insurance and made the appointment. It was a terrible experience. I have never gone through so many hoops to confirm a provider and make an appointment.Thank goodness Dr. Gidvani and staff are great. The MRI staff are also very nice and professional. But I dread making calls for appointments. I will review again after my surgery. I'm updating my review of orthonorcal. I had my surgery. Dr. Gidvani was fabulous. El Camino Hospital where I had it done was also excellent. My recovery has been very good and Dr. Gidvani and his staff have been very responsive to my needs. I had a disk implant in my neck at C5/C6 vertebrae. I also wonder if someone at their orthonorcal facility didn't see my review about their answering service. The last few times I've been there they have been exceedingly nice, and they have been far more responsive when I've had to make phone calls. They still don't get back to you in a timely fashion if you have to leave a message with the appointment desk. I've learned to pick the selection for doctors and medical clinics versus the appointment desk, that way I get attention right away. Overall it has been a very good experience. I will definitely go back there.
After an improbable (and totally clumsy) fall in my house that internally nearly detached my right arm, I was really thankful that Good Sam ER recommended Dr. Kevin Murray of OrthoNorCal. Not only did he surgically reattach all the muscles and tendons and ligaments successfully, but he did it with a personable and calm demeanor and excellent humor! Just graduated today after a year of treatment (including physical therapy at Quinn PT with the incomparable Tina Beck). Over the last year, Dr. Murray and the staff (Joe and Donna really stand out) treated me with respect and friendship, were clear on the expectations, the amount of work needed to fully recover, supported and cheered my progress and made the year fly by. I hope never to need an orthopedic specialist again, but if I do, I am headed back to OrthoNorCal and Dr. Kevin Murray
Great staff, Jonah was very efficient and helpful. Dr. Stoll was fantastic. Dr. Stoll spent a lot of time with me and explained all my options and was very caring. I highly recommend her for any hand issues. The office was great with everything I needed under one roof.
Dr. Laura Stoll is very professional and has a great demeanor. She took a special interest in our son and we felt very comfortable with her advice and input. I highly recommend Dr. Stoll for any hand injury. Jonah is terrific and outstanding in what he does. He is welcoming and makes you feel very comfortable. Jonah does a super job of communicating and keeping the patient informed. We really had a wonderful experience.
Dr. Fisk is awesome! Very caring, thorough and helpful. I had a fast recovery on my fractured foot. The staff is kinda and accommodating and the office is clean and comfortable. Would highly recommend :)

Dr. Gidvani and his assistant Vikram were amazing! Dr. Gidvani was very accommodating in explaining and walking me through the surgical process. I felt very comfortable asking question pre and post surgery. Vikram was very helpful and diligent in getting back to me with any paper work or converns I had over the phone. Overall, I had a great experience with OrthoNorCal. The whole team (front receptionists, coordinators, X-ray techs) were all very friendly and welcoming. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Dr. Fisk saw me for my broken foot after it didn't heal as anticipated. She took her time explaining things to me, put me on an anti-inflammatory that really helped, and helped me heal. She is very personable and has a great bedside manner. I would go back (but hopefully won't have to).
I was in the care of Dr. Fisk after breaking my ankle, and I did not need surgery. The initial and follow up care was great.
You Just Never Know You never know when you'll need a truly great surgeon but one thing for sure, when you NEED one you want the absolute BEST. So, when my husband took a great fall from a ladder in our front yard and hit the concrete like a fragile Humpty Dumpty, I was assuming I'd get the BEST care available from the closest hospital. That was not the case. Instead of receiving the immediate care he needed for his seriously fractured leg he was treated so poorly I saw tears in his eyes. There was my strong husband in so much pain it made him cry in agony. I refuse to even go into that mess due to the stress is STILL causes us both when we even THINK of that hideous place. Frightened by the lack of care we received I immediately took my husband home and began searching for a surgeon we could TRUST. This is where things get better. We called NorCalOrtho and got in as soon as possible. My husband was treated with dignity and kindness beginning with the front desk staff. The gentle care of those ladies at the front desk was such a breath of fresh air after what my husband had been through at the hospital I first took him to. The front desk of any facility is its first connection to the patient. This place has it all down pat! It's not fake... they truly care about you as a human being and in the end that's all any of us truly want. We were introduced to Erica G. Fisk MD and her assistant Makena. Instantly we could tell that they were truly dedicated to to their work. Both of them recognized the great amount of pain my husband was is and the severity of his injuries and took immediate action to help him. No horsing around with these two. Patient comfort was their first concern and from there they quickly assessed what measures needed to be taken as soon as possible. They both kept us abreast of everything going on with his leg and made us feel comfortable making the decisions we needed to make from there on. Immediately I wanted to gush all over these two women thanking them with all of my heart. NOW WE KNEW WE WERE IN GREAT HANDS. What a relief for us both. There were tricks and tangles with our insurance which the NorCalOrtho staff was kind enough to help us understand and work through with us- kinda holding our hand a bit. We'd never been hurt before so neither of us knew a thing about this end of our medical insurance. What a relief to have such well informed, calm and helpful folks to guide us through this mess. Amazing! Never having a broken bone before, my husband was very nervous about his surgery. Dr. Fisk was on top of everything and that alone made us feel that he was in good hands. Still, surgery is scary if you've never experienced it before but there Dr. Fisk was with Makena by her side walking us through each step carefully and kindly. Truthfully, this made a HUGE difference in how we both felt as he was wheeled into surgery. I didn't feel stressed out or worried at all. Honestly, I felt calm and I was able to focus on giving my husband all of my positive energy and that was a blessing. After surgery he had more visits and then the casting began. The staff members who helped him with each of his casts and 2 braces were very knowledgeable in their field and were gentle, kind and caring each visit. It made us feel GREAT to be treated so well. They explained each thing they did and why, how to use the casts or braces and what to look out for. Good information with a sincere smile. How nice! My husband ended up having three surgeries in which he received care from Dr. Erica Fisk and in each case she was superior. Absolutely PRIMO! She cared enough to show up on time, explain everything she was going to do in detail, ask my husband about his physical being before surgery, ask him if there was anything else he was concerned about before opening him up (he said he had pain in his ankle and pointed to it) and informed us that IF she found anything where he had pointed to she would take care of that during his surgery. As it turned out there was a problem area and she did take care of it. After his surgery Dr. Fisk came out into the waiting room outside and clearly define what the problem was, how she corrected it and how long it would take for my husbands new surgery to heal. She even took photos of the surgery for me so I could actually SEE what she saw and how she corrected it for him. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Now THIS IS REAL HEALTH CARE! Care. Go look it up. To CARE for someone is to attach IMPORTANCE to them. They are important. To CARE for someone is the provision of what is necessary for the health, welfare, maintenance and protection of someone. Dr. Erica Fisk CARED for my husband. So, you might be asking yourself some time in your life where you can find a surgeon who truly CARES for their patients. LOOK NO FURTHER!! I am yelping Dr. Gidvani. I have had chronic neck pain and nerve pain for 4 years now and this year decided with his help to have surgery to fix two herniated disks. I had tried everything with other doctors, like therapy, chiropractor's, steroid injections and massage, but they wouldn't last long and some made it worse. I finally found Dr. Gidvani through my insurance. It was my first time dealing with the doctor so I was little hesitant seeing that I wanted surgery. After the first meeting, I knew he was the guy and I moved forward. I had surgery on my neck and can say today I am 100% pain free and have most of the motion back in my neck. I can now do the things I used to do with any pain. Pain make you old and I feel like I am getting my youth back again. I highly recommend Dr. Gidvani for any back related injury. He worked wonders on my neck and I am so glad I picked his name when it came time to have this procedure done. 2 Thumbs up and 5 stars!
As someone who works in the Medical Field, I tend to be a little "picky" about service and care I receive for myself and my kids. That being said, I loved Dr. Kanel.. My son broke and dislocated his hand very badly during lunch at school. By 2pm we were sitting in Dr Kanel's office. Due to him fitting me in I was able to avoid having to take my son to an ER. And 6 weeks earlier when my son had a minor fracture in his leg (of course a weekend)...we were at the ER and Dr Kanel was called because we had taken my other kid to see him so our family was "established" with his office. The ER Dr didnt feel the Specialist needed to come to see us at the ER but just to let Dr Kanel know what happened and let him know what they did for my son in the mean time. Not only did he call me that same day, but he checked in again the following day to see how he was doing and to let me know he'd make sure to get him in the next day (Monday). The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because the front desk staff can be a little short and less than welcoming. But that could happen to anyone, anyday, any dr office. I also ask my fellow Yelpers to keep something in mind when you are writing a review about a Dr. If you are seen in an ER...the Dr isn't always on call and if they are not, yes...it may take time for them to get to the ER. If that is the best specialist for your injury/illness and they are not on call, wouldn't you rather wait than get someone who isn't the best? Also, the result you are "hoping for" isn't always realistic or the best way to treat whatever you are dealing with. Don't give a Dr a bad review just because things didn't go according to YOUR plan or ideas. Believe me, if anything I'm harsher than the average person.
I came in to see Dr. Murray after seeing another surgeon for pain in my shoulder. My previous doctor gave me 3 separate cortizone shots over a few months that didn't work. I came in to see Dr. Murray for a second opinion and decided because of his knowledge, experience with sports injuries and compassionate nature, that I would have him perform my surgery. We found that there was A LOT more going on in my shoulder than previously diagnosed. I am so happy that I chose Dr. Murray, because my shoulder is much better after surgery and I really enjoy going to see him and his friendly staff. It's important to feel like you are cared about, and I get that at OrthoNorCal. His assistant, Rudy is great too!
I saw Dr. Kevin Murray here first for knee pain, and then again for foot pain. He has a very personable way about him and I am very happy that I was able to be in his care. So the knee is getting better although I have to give up some high impact activity that I don't want to. The foot pain which has been bothering me for years is now GONE!! He gave me some small exercises to do every day and it WORKS! It's unbelievable! I couldn't be more thankful!
Dr. Sandeep Gidvani essentially gave up most of a weekend to operate and relieve back pain and herniated discs that had resulted in a hospital admission. I walked out of the hospital hours after back surgery and have not needed pain medication for the 3 weeks since. I cannot recommend him highly enough, he is a wonderful, caring doctor.
Dr. Kanel is absolutely fantastic! My 16 year old ruptured her achilles tendon playing soccer and since her first visit, he has taken the utmost care in her surgery and healing process. The decisions he has made for her have been spot on and never once has he been unavailable to answer any of our questions. He has tremendous bedside manner and treated my daughter and I with absolute respect and kindness. I am so thankful for my doctor's referral to Dr. Kanel. He is one in a million. :)
I have 4 very active children and in the last 7 years there have been 15 broken bones, two surgeries and countless other injuries that Dr. Kanel has treated/performed. I cannot express how grateful we are to have had our children in his care. Dr. Kanel has gone above and beyond the call of duty! Great experience, beginning to end My 17 year old son was assessed in the ER and as a result we were referred out to Dr. Kanel. After meeting with Dr. Kanel we decided surgery was needed. As we did our research we found out that Dr. Kanel was the right doctor to perform the needed surgery. Dr. Kanel is the right doctor for you if you have the following needs: patient advocate experienced trustworthy skilled knowledgeable about different situations (ours was a very unique situation which he correctly diagnosed from the MRI - and he reassured us the entire way) Even though we did not anticipate the situation, Dr. Kanel made it easier to deal with as we went through the process of diagnosis,surgery and recovery.
And for me it's about the wonderful care and world class surgery and after care I received from Kevin Murray.After being told by other staff members that surgery was not a good option for me and as an active old guy I was bummed that the medical field had given up on my shoulder .then I was directed to a sports medicine guy named Dr. Murray a true hero in my family as he took on my shoulder long damaged from years of neglect from car racing to skydiving and base jumping and a dislocation that nearly ended my true love of adventure as a world record holding Hang Glider pilot .Dr. Murray said to me he could give me 70% of the use of my shoulder ,after his care i returned to flying as he became like a brother to me seeing to it that the physical therapist tailored the therapy to my recovery and even had a special brace made for me so I could return as a Hang Glider pilot and got my life back as a active senior and all my children are very happy that we met Dr.Kevin Murray.
My daughter has been a patient of Dr. Kanel for 14 years now, and he is the reason she can walk today. She was diagnosed with Ollier's Disease, a rare bone disorder, at 3 years old. This disease causes bowing of bones and limb length discrepancies, and in many cases lengthening of the bone is necessary. We took her all over the bay area to find the most experienced doctor to perform this complicated surgery, and we found him right here in Los Gatos. Dr. Kanel performed 2 lengthening surgeries on her femur. He is an expert in this field with years of experience. He is also cutting edge on all new procedures being used out there. Over the years, Dr. Kanel performed around 8 surgeries on my daughter (kinda lost track). He repaired broken bones, did bone graphs and inserted nails and pins into the bone. Without his expertise she would not have legs the same length. We are forever grateful to him. Now that she is full grown our visits to Dr. Kanel have slowed down, but when we have an appointment it's like going to see family. Dr. Kanel has seen us through some very hard times, and it was his kindness and the way he truly cared about all of us that got us through. It is rare to find a doctor who is both compassionate and talented.

Dr. Kanel started treatment on day two of Zach's life with serial casting (a new cast each week) from foot to hip. It became apparent that surgery would be needed at six months old, and Dr. Kanel was there for us. Zach started walking before he was through with the serial casts following surgery. It was definitely a process, but also very do-able. Zach had a very normal childhood; most of his friends didn't know he had a problem with his feet until he told them. Learning to drive proved to be extremely painful for Zach; his ankle bones were moving, flexing the connective tissue between the bones. So at 16 he had major reconstructive surgery again. This time his ankle bones were fused together around metal plates . Yes, first the right foot, then the left foot. Eight months in a wheelchair his Junior year in high school. Let's just say memories were made! He is now healed and driving again, working on building up his endurance and strength in his legs. Dr. Kanel gave Zach so much. He helped us (parents) understand that surgery was absolutely required, and was clear about what to expect in recovery. He kept Zach (patient) laughing and feeling comfortable about the process, even though there was quite a bit of pain to endure. We first met Dr. Kanel because Zach was born in Los Gatos (close to his office). We got lucky; our pediatrician hunted him down. Thank you Dr. Naughten! We moved out of the area when Zach was almost two. It is worth the 400 mile drive (one way) to be his patient. Nobody else will work on Zach's ankles; I won't let them! So thankful for the excellent care of Dr. Kanel! He fixed my daughters arm after she broke it. She had surgery at 18 months and a cast for a month. All the office staff has been so kind and helpful. Thank you for making a scary situation for our family as positive as possible!
I've seen Dr Seago for years (ex race car driver turned cyclist). I recently was hit on my bike. Dr Seago was out of town so Dr Kanel took care of me, inserting a plate and 8 screws to repair my clavicle. Dr Seago, Dr Kanel and the entire office staff were wonderful to me and made the experience as good as it could be under the circumstances. The work Dr Kanel performed, putting my clavicle back together, was great. 2 weeks later, I'm able to use my arm to do daily things and expect to be back on the bike in 2 more. Dr Kanel was very friendly, pleasant, caring, gentle and understanding of my needs. I highly recommend OrthoNorCal to anyone that has any Orthopedic needs.

Five stars don't even come close to the amount of stars Dr. Kanel and his staff should receive in my review. If I were to write a memoir of my life as a parent to a child with Cerbral Palsy my encounters with this office would take up a good portion of the book. Those chapters would be among the most heartfelt and inspiring part of my story and my daughter's. His expertise goes beyond his ability as surgeon (which has been remarkable.) He understands my daugher and addresses her needs, he listens to her and recommends what is best for her. As for Gloria Werkema . . . don't even get me started. She can take a saw to my daughter's leg anytime (for the purposes of cutting off a cast of course.) Dr. Kanel came to me by way of a recommendation from my pediatrician 15 years ago and by my sister whose daughter had hip surgery. I have referred him to countless other parents who have all had great experiences. Dr. Kanel even treated me for what I was convinced a broken ankle. To our relief . . . the ankle was only sprained.
I have been a patient of Dr. Jeffrey Kanel for more years than I can remember. He is a very caring doctor who agreed to take my case even though I am not a pediatric patient. My medical issues are very complex and have often necessitated referrals to other specialists. Dr. Kanel has always made sure that I got the best care possible. He also has a good sense of humor, which I appreciate. His staff is great, particularly Gloria Werkema. At times I have needed a lot of paperwork done and Gloria worked her way through it all.
Dr. Kanel is an amazing surgeon. I had severe knee pain. Turns out it was hyperextended for 34 years due to an accident in 1979. My shin bone needed to be broken again so it could heal straight this time. Dr. Kanel did the needful osteoplasty with an external fixator. After 6 mos., all was great! He even lengthened my leg to match the other, fixing all kinds of back pain from which I suffered for decades. As others have said, his bedside manner may not be as warm and comforting as some may prefer. But when it comes to a complex surgery like mine with osteoplasty, Dr. Kanel knows his stuff where it counts! Wish I would have met many him years ago!
This is a review for Dr. Kanel over at OrthoNorcal. I came to Dr. Kanel with a rotational problem in the tibia after years of pain which disabled my prior level of sports performance and was a huge concern for as long as i can remmember. A slew of orthopedic specialists and co-pays could not solve my problems and it seemed a cure was hopeless. When i came to Dr. Kanel's office there was an immediate sense of professionalism. I was treated very kindly by all the staff and everyone was willing to work with the fact i lived about an hour away from the office. My Xrays were done in an organized process, and all insurance affairs were handled smoothly and immediately, there have not been delayed or unexpected bills coming in like they had with other doctors i had seen. Upon meeting Dr. Kanel it was obvious he is very skilled in communicating with his patients. He really cares about you as a person. not you as a room number or just another patient. He takes his time with each appointment and dedicates himself to truly assessing a situation. he examined me the longest of any other orthopedist i met with. Dr. Kanel was also hugely respectful of my mom and I's financial situation, providing unrivaled medical care along with going above and beyond to make his expert care affordable. I can never thank him enough. I am not a yelp reviewer in general. i am a patient who found the true concern and medical expertise of Dr. Kanel and this establishment to be so stellar that i felt a duty to help make it standout, as it is so far beyond the care i have received anywhere else in my life.
