ABOUT

Alyssa Bernat

Alyssa was drawn to medicine from an early age. “I don’t know that I ever wanted to do anything else, but it took me a while to get here. My journey shaped my perspective on orthopedic care”. Alyssa has always been active which drove her interest in sports medicine, including participating in the Northgate sports medicine class as an introduction into her future career.  “We see acute and chronic foot and ankle issues on a daily basis.  I give injections and assist in surgery.”

As an undergraduate at Sonoma State, Alyssa coached for Girls on the Run and volunteered in the athletic training room while persuing a degree in Kinesiology with a minor in German.

Alyssa went to Midwestern University in Illinois for her medical education but returned to the Bay Area after graduating where she lives with her fiancé and her dog, Kai’o.
