ABOUT

Madison Toma

Maddie is a board-certified physician assistant in Orthopedic Express Urgent Care, Brentwood and Walnut Creek.  She earned her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of the Pacific.

“I have a lifelong passion for movement and health,” she says. “I believe in empowering patients through education and working collaboratively to develop treatment plans that are personalized, realistic, and effective,” says Maddie.  “I grew up very active, playing soccer and a variety of other sports, which sparked my curiosity about the human body and how it performs.”

That interest led her to pursue a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, with a focus on health promotion.  “I worked as a physical therapy aide at GSOS, where I had the opportunity to support patients through their recovery journeys. I loved being part of their progress and seeing how personalized care and patient collaboration could make a meaningful impact.”

It was during that time that Maddie realized she wanted to delve deeper, and understand not just movement and rehab, but the full spectrum of health, injury, disease, and treatment.  “The drive to care for others at every stage of health is what ultimately brought me to medicine.”

In her free time, Maddie enjoys hiking, walking her dog, working out, and being active outside as much as possible.
