DR MICHAEL Y CHANG

Dr. Chang is the best of the best! I've had several epidurals done by him. He's ALWAYS hit the nail on the head both in my neck and lower back. I've always had a positive experience with him, he's a genius. He is extremely precise in every procedure that I have had done. He's also very nice and personable. I can't say enough about him after 7 years experience of being his patient.

Dr. Michael C. Chang is truly a compassionate, thoughtful and highly skilled physician who has made a significant difference in my life. Dr. Chang performed epidural on my back which relieved the excruciating pain that I was experiencing for years. Great Dr that moves to fast to really hear your situation in a whole! So if your case is complicated get his attention from the beginning to hear you out before he just throw his diagnoses & plan at you! Ask all your questions cause he’s busy so he moves really fast. Cause if you have something else to ask about after you have left the office, nobody there really communicate w/ one another. Just short, short cliff note communication through the office that can be really frustrating.

DR. CHANG of GSO possesses HIGH Medical Expertise. He’s Friendly, LISTENED to me, answered all questions to my satisfaction, was courteous, empathetic and tried to help me overcome this this (Unimaginable Spinal PAIN). ESI, works for many, but; so far ESI, ALL pain medications including, Morphine IV @ John Muir Hospital ER, have NOT worked for me. Nonetheless, DR CHANG DID NOT give up on me, he took the time to refer me to an Orthopedic Surgeon. When I needed a last minute letter for Delta Airlines because I am in too much pain w/a partially paralyzed left leg DR CHANG took time out of his very busy schedule to write the letter. I don’t believe I would make it back alive if I took that long flight. MOST of the online articles DON’T ACCURATELY articulate this level of pain & the paralysis. I am lying down in pain typing this & dreading standing & trying to walk to my bathroom w/a cane. STANDING & WALKING HIGHLY ESCALATES the PAIN. I understand I’m writing too much about myself & that’s because I’m in SO MUCH PAIN, 6 weeks 24/7, BUT; enough about me. I’M THANKFUL TO GOD LEADING ME TO DR. CHANG FOR LEADING ME TO A SURGEON. DR CHANG NEVER ALLOW THE ILL’S OF SOCIETY CHANGE YOUR POSITIVE NATURE. I STILL BELIEVE THERE ARE MORE GOOD PEOPLE IN THE WORLD. I BELIEVE WHO WE ARE AS HUMAN BEING IS MOST IMPORTANT. In my early 20s, sitting at a stop light, a large truck ran into the rear of my little car, totally smashing it up in the lane of cars in front of me. After having cervical and lumbar injuries, there is always pain in both places. Dr Chang has done a great job for me when he places the needle in these areas. If you have any pains like this, please call him for an appointment, so you will feel better after your appointment.

Dr. Chang is a wonderful Pain Mgt Dr. I hate to give his name out, as it's challenging enough to get in to see him. He's smart, committed, willing, warm, funny and any Dr. who will stay the course as you look for solutions and jump thru hoops to get things done is a gift in Healthcare today. We are living in a time of great change, with mergers and legislation, post-pandemic and most challenging, insurance companies making life very difficult for doctors who just want to help us. That's not the provider's fault. Any Dr. who can laugh with you, as they attempt to help you thru so many barriers, stay the course and keep looking for solutions, is a treasure and to me, Dr. Chang has made living with pain bearable. I'm grateful he's on my team!

Dr. Chang performed a spinal epidural for me and it worked perfectly. The procedure was quick and virtually painless. It has been such a relief. I had considerable pain in my spine from disk degeneration and spinal stenosis and now it's gone. I can go about my daily life pain free. I highly recommend Dr. Chang and Golden State Ortho and Spine.

Fast action on diagnosing

Dr. Chan is the best. I tried everything when my back started to hurt last year. I could not do physical therapy because it hurt too bad. Chiropractic did not help. Finally, I got in to see Dr. Chan & he thought I would benefit from an epidural injection. When I finally got the injection, I felt like he had performed a miracle. My life improved my practically overnight. After months of not being able to do very much at all, I could where I wanted without worrying that I would not be able to walk back. I still have to curtail some of my activities but I am so grateful. Now that I know how awful it is to have this sort of back pain, it horrifies me that people sometimes have to wait for years to get authorization for a procedure that will relieve them of pain. Dr. Chang is a great doctor. Listens to you and cares a lot about your overall physical well-being. I've been seeing him for three years now. Can't picture going to anyone else. Office staff is on the ball. The only complaint I have is how long it takes to get an appointment. They're so busy that appointments are a ways out.

I would gladly refer Dr M Chang to family and friends. It's to bad he is not a primary doctor.

Dr. Chang had a group of colleagues to help with gathering information on my case. He seems extremely knowledgeable about low back pain and its ramifications. He is a good listener and gave me options how to manage my symptoms When I asked for more diagnostic evaluation, he was very responsive. I had an MRI and that imaging doctor missed several items Dr. Chang noticed right away. He knew and pointed out the exact spot where my headaches start. Dr Chang has taken a helpful interest in my back aliment. He is a bit brief, but knowing I he has other patients I understand. Thus far he has suggested PT, but because I am not driving at this time I have yet to go. The Brentwood facility is more easier for me to get to, but they are presently full, and had no space for a new patient.

I have had excellent care from Dr Chang. He understands my goals to get healthy and manage my pain. My results have surpassed my expectations.  When I needed to get some quick pain relief for my daughters hawaii wedding he made room for me.  Good guy!

Dr Chang did a wonderful job of treating my spinal compression fracture.  He was a good listener and answered all of my questions.  He was compassionate and patient with me.  He first recommended conservative treatment ( ice, pain meds and a brace) but after two weeks with so-so results he recommended a kyphoplasty.  He performed the procedure a few days later and the results were amazing!  My sharp pains disappeared completely and within a week the soreness from the procedure was also mostly gone.

I had a severe back and arm problem.  I was referred to Dr Chang by a friend.   He did a thorough examination with x rays and an MRI and correctly diagnosed the issue.  It has been 4 weeks and I feel like a kid at 62 years of age.  Outstanding doctor and he is very intelligent

Dr. Chang is with Muir Orthopedics, and was absolutely skilled, professional and has the patients as his first priority.  "Having pain" is one of those things that is not so easily treatable right away and it helps to have a skilled doctor figuring things out along with you.  I didn't expect to be miraculously better in one visit, and it was such a breathe of fresh air to have Dr. Chang give me options on how to tackle the problem.  He put me first and came up with a plan to address the issue.  It also helped that he was straightforward but caring and he was truly skilled.  I like that he didn't "sweet talk" but rather relied on his skills and knowledge.   I'd trust a skilled doctor over one who can "talk" anyday.
