Osteoarthritis, also known as “wear and tear” arthritis, is the most common form of arthritis, and develops slowly over time.   

HIP REPLACEMENT

Dr specializes in hip replacement where an orthopedic surgeon removes the diseased parts of the hip joint and replaces them with new, artificial parts.

COMPLETE & PARTIAL KNEE REPLACEMENT

Dr is skilled in complete and partial knee replacement – generally performed on people who have extreme and painful wear and tear damage caused by arthritis.

ABOUT DR ANOUSHIRAVANI

Dr. Afshin Anoushiravani is an orthopedic surgeon with advanced fellowship training in both joint replacement and orthopedic trauma. His expertise includes primary and revision hip and knee replacement, fracture care, and the treatment of complex and periprosthetic fractures. With a unique background that bridges arthroplasty and trauma surgery, Dr. Anoushiravani provides highly specialized care for patients facing both routine and complex conditions.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Anoushiravani is an active researcher who has published extensively on hip and knee replacement, trauma care, and surgical techniques. He is committed to evidence-based medicine, bringing both clinical expertise and a strong scientific background to the operating room. Patients benefit from his dedication to advancing the field while keeping care personal and patient-centered.

Originally from California, Dr. Anoushiravani earned his medical degree with distinction in research from Albany Medical College, where he also completed his orthopedic surgery residency. He went on to complete fellowships in adult reconstruction at the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics and orthopedic trauma at UCSF.

Outside of medicine, he enjoys traveling with his wife and child, staying active through swimming, jogging, and tennis, and pursuing hobbies such as carpentry and restoration.
